Alexandria Cress Borys breathed her last in the Kroger parking lot on Saint Andrews Road in Irmo. On Valentine’s Day, February 14, she was shot and killed just six days after her brother also met the same fate.
Tyler Borys’s husband politely declined an interview but did offer to discuss the incident. Borys was reported with her sister-in-law, niece, and nephew at Kroger.
Just before 4 o’clock, Tyler stated, his wife got into an altercation with a stranger in the parking lot, later identified as 23-year-old Christina Harrison, while they were loading groceries into the car.
“From what I have pieced together, they had either concluded the argument or Alex was walking away. It’s indicating she was shot with her back turned,” said Tyler on Thursday.
Before Borys was confirmed dead at the scene at 5:30 p.m., Harrison turned himself into the Irmo Police Department (IPD). Since then, she has been arrested and charged with murder, unauthorized carrying of a pistol, and firearm possession during a violent crime by the IPD.
According to WIS’s confirmation with the Lexington County Bond Court, Harrison was scheduled to appear in court yesterday, but she had her private attorney skip the session.
“Sunni,” one of Borys’s former coworkers, told she is still inconsolable about what happened on Tuesday.
“And it’s just really sad that you took away a mom, a sister, a daughter, a wife for something so senseless,” said Sunni over the phone.
Over the phone, Sunni lamented, “And it’s just very awful that you took away a parent, a sister, a daughter, a wife for something so ridiculous.”

Borys and Sunni spent many years working together in a doctor’s office in Columbia. The mother’s profession was cosmetology, but she was exploring a change to nursing before her untimely death.
“I was actually supposed to meet her on Valentine’s Day to give her the stuff that I made for her. So, she texted me that morning and I never heard anything back, and we obviously know the reason why,” said Sunni as she tried not to cry.
Her husband claims that Borys was a wonderful mother and wife who made a positive difference in the lives of many. Tyler has started a GoFundMe to raise money for his wife’s burial and their son’s future.
