Sunday Collision in Muscatine County Kills 3

The sheriff’s office in rural Muscatine County reports that an automobile crash on Sunday afternoon resulted in the deaths of three people.

The call arrived at 2:25 in the afternoon. The Muscatine County Sheriff’s Department, the Iowa State Patrol, and other responders found the automobiles in a field north of Highway 38 and northeast of the junction with 155th Street.

2019 Toyota Highlander and Dodge Ram were among the automobiles involved. The Highlander was carrying seven people, whereas the Ram could only accommodate two.

Fatal Crash

According to the Iowa State Patrol’s investigation of the collision, the Highlander was headed east on 155th Street while the Ram was heading north on Highway 38. The Ram crashed into the Highlander after he disregarded the stop sign.

Three people have perished from their wounds as of Sunday night. The names of the victims were released by the Muscatine County Medical Examiner’s Office.

As to the ME office, funeral services honoring the deceased will take place at the Gay and Ciha Funeral Home in Iowa City. The remaining six injured people were taken by ambulance or helicopter to local hospitals. Injured people were not named by authorities. As more details emerge, the sheriff’s office will share them with the public.
