Chris Moyer Murder

The 2011 murder of Chris Moyer’s family was a shocking and heartbreaking incident. Christopher Moyer, a resident of Warrington, Pennsylvania, slaughtered his family before committing himself by letting a train run over him.

He went outside and killed himself after confessing to the police that he had killed his family. Christopher Moyer had already fled the house by the time the police arrived. About three hours later, his body was found along the SEPTA rails in Hatboro. He had been leaning his head on a rail, waiting for the train that would eventually kill him.

The inexplicable acts of violence committed by their loved ones continue to haunt the community even today.

Why did Chris Moyer Slaughter his Loved Ones?

Christopher Moyer murdered his wife Irina Geller Moyer and son Dillon before taking his own life. He whacked them over the head with a baseball bat while they were sleeping.

During the investigation, the body of the 7-year-old was discovered in a different bedroom, and that of the 39-year-old wife was discovered in the bathroom adjacent to the master bedroom.

A Criminal Inquiry by the Police

Chris Moyer reported the deaths of his wife and kid to the authorities, and an inquiry was launched soon after. Police from three different towns, including Warrick, Warminster, and Warrington, surrounded the man’s home in the 100 block of Redstone Drive.

In order to determine if the caller was still inside, the police delayed entering the house. When they arrived, they discovered two bodies inside, along with the alleged murderer. When police arrived, they found a bloodied bat next to the toddler and saw no signs of resistance, so they assumed that Christopher had killed them while they were sleeping.

Moyer’s body, together with his belongings and about $1300, was discovered on the railroad track shortly after. Using a baseball bat, a 44-year-old Warrington man, according to police, killed his wife and kid before handing himself in on Friday night.

According to authorities, he attempted suicide by lying in front of a moving train. The man reportedly called 911 at 9:40 p.m. to report the incident.

When the 911 operator asked Chris if he was the one who killed his wife and son, Chris responded yes. The caller had a pleasant demeanor, and the operator appreciated his gratitude and other positive feedback during the session.

A call came in at 1:00 a.m. from someone in Hatboro reporting a body on the train tracks. They located the 911 caller’s vehicle nearby. The police say that the man had his head on the train track while he waited for the train. Within the residence was discovered a typed memo with family members’ names and phone numbers.

Investigators uncovered evidence suggesting the family was struggling financially.

All evidence points to the Moyers’ financial woes as the root cause. A double murder-suicide occurred on Redstone Drive in Warrington on Friday night, and the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office has announced that no further investigation will be conducted because there is no one to charge.
