Scott Alexander, a magician who competed on season 6 of “America’s Got Talent,” passed away Sunday after a stroke he suffered while working on a cruise ship in the Caribbean. He was 52.
On Monday, Alexander’s wife, Jenny, confirmed his death on Instagram.
“I lost my husband yesterday. My kids lost their father. He suffered a stroke while working on a cruise ship in St. Kitts and did not make it home to us,” reads the post, accompanied by a photo of the family. “We are shattered. Please hold us in your prayers.”
In 2011, while competing on “AGT,” Alexander impressed judges Piers Morgan, Sharon Osbourne, and Howie Mandel by having his wife (helper) appear to materialize from thin air. The Pennsylvania illusionist was eventually knocked out of the competition in the quarterfinals after a trick involving a gospel choir.
In an interview with the Daily Local News, Alexander revealed that he performed his first magic act at a neighbor’s Halloween party when he was just 12 years old. He claimed he worked as a children’s party entertainer throughout high school.
According to his official biography, he went on to be a headliner at Caesars Palace on the Las Vegas Strip for over seven years.
Later, according to his online biography, he was a headliner on the Las Vegas Strip at Caesars Palace for more than seven years. In 2015, he and fellow “AGT” alum, illusionist Puck, competed in the second season of “Penn & Teller: Fool Us,” but they were eliminated in the first round.

“For me, and others in our community, we didn’t all know him and his wife as the on-stage duo or the star magician that he was. Those within this circle knew him as a good man, a loving husband, a caring father,” Ashley DeStephano wrote on the GoFundMe page. (as per NYpost.com)
“A family man. The dad who helped with homecoming parade floats, science projects, Halloween costumes, his kids’ talent show school performances.”
