As part of the third season of Overwatch 2, the game will feature its first crossover collaboration. One Punch Man, a manga about a superhero who can defeat his enemies with a single punch will serve as inspiration for new cosmetic additions to the game.
The first piece of content to come out of that partnership is a Doomfist skin designed to look like One Punch Man’s Saitama. From March 7 through April 6, Overwatch 2 will host a crossover event with the popular One Punch Man franchise which according to Blizzard will feature special loading screens and a variety of skins for players to use.
Blizzard has been tight-lipped about the nature of the partnership so far but with the release of Season 3 on Tuesday, fans can look forward to learning more. To date, One Punch Man is the second major external skin collaboration for the Overwatch series.
Will Players Have the Opportunity To Earn One Punch Man Doomfist?
Overwatch 2, after a shaky start to its life on the market, appears to be finding its footing. Blizzard announced the new season’s content on Monday and there’s a lot for players to look forward to. The first crossover in the series’ history will occur in season three.
On March 7th, players will be able to earn cosmetic items based on One-Punch Man, a popular superhero series created by Japanese manga artist One. More specifically, one skin transforms Doomfist into One-Saitama.

One-Punch Man created by Ysuke Murata and animated by One will be featured in the new season as a collaborative effort. Blizzard has only shown off one skin for one character (Doomfist), but they’ve promised a tonne more including unlockable cosmetics and a Legendary version of one of the playable heroes.
If you don’t care about the One-Punch Man skin, don’t worry there are plenty of others to collect this year. Season two’s mythology inspiration led to Greek-themed cosmetics but season three will shift gears to “Asian mythology.”
For those who have completed the most recent premium battle pass, Amaterasu Kiriko is a new skin available for use in the game. The skin was clearly influenced by the Japanese Shinto sun goddess, as suggested by the name. Blizzard also claims to have lowered the bar for obtaining vanity items in response to player feedback.

This is the first major intellectual property collaboration for Overwatch 2. The competitive shooter went live last year and it’s available for free on Playstation, PS4, PS5, PC, Windows, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. The One-Punch Man anime is returning for a third season created by ONE and Ysuke Murata.
When talking about Season 3’s new features, the Antarctica Control map naturally comes up first. It has been hinted to in Mei’s “Rise and Shine” cinematic that players will be able to explore the main facility of Ecopoint: Antarctica, but this will be the first time they really get to do so.
Blizzard claims that this Lore-filled tundra is home to many undiscovered tales. The entire third season will be based on Asian mythology.
