On the season 9 premiere of Trading Spaces last night, we saw Terri and Cornell swap houses with Crystal and Will so that they could renovate each other’s basements. Terri, a major Prince fan, requested a basement bar and lounge area for when they host cocktail parties for friends. She also requested prominent usage of the colour purple. Meanwhile, Crystal was desirous of a tranquil hangout spot where she and her pals could unwind.
Last night’s edition of Trading Spaces featured an extra-special guest designer, Clinton Kelly, who stopped by to work alongside Hildi. In last night’s programme, Ty Pennington of Team Clinton and Joanie Sprague of Team Hildi were the carpenters.
Hildi collaborated with Crystal and Will, while Clinton worked with Terri and Cornell. Clinton informs Terri and Cornell that he will incorporate colour, texture, pattern, and sparkle with this design. Another thing he suggests is installing a stripper pole, which Terri thinks is awesome.
When Crystal and Will found out they would be working with Hildi, they were ecstatic. Crystal expresses to Hildi her desire for Prince to be incorporated into the room’s design, but Will reveals that Cornell has firmly forbidden his presence.
Clinton began the colour reveal by presenting Terri and Cornell white, brown, pale aqua, and teal, and Terri isn’t convinced. Hildi demonstrates her palette to Crystal and Will, who express mild alarm at the sight of orange, raspberry, olive, and yellow.

Crystal is doubtful about whether or not she will ultimately approve of Hildi’s direction for the project the entire time they are in the design room. While everything is going on, Clinton has his hands full with Terri, who refuses to budge from her position that the brown paint is one of Crystal’s “hateful colours.”
Clinton tells Joanie About his Construction Needs
He requests a white bar that is 8 feet in length. Crystal is painting leaves on the wall in Terri’s basement, and Hildi is a little frightened but willing to trust the process. Hildi then has a conversation with Ty in which she expresses her desires.
Both a bar for Terri and Cornell’s room and a ping-pong table top for the pool table are necessities. For added Prince flair, she has him construct a wooden Corvette and paint it red. So that Cornell won’t complain that there is too much of Prince, they’re only using hints of his style.

It’s from an episode of Trading Spaces. Season 9 Episode 5. The woman hated the transformation of her house and freaked out 💀

In contrast to the $1997.74 that Team Hildi spent, Terri and Cornell have a difficult time in the room and may even dislike it. According to Cornell, the bar is their favourite part of the hotel. Despite Terri’s insistence that all she wanted was some Prince memorabilia, we find just a red Corvette and nothing else that could possibly be associated with the musician. For some reason, this room has truly irritated her.

Will and Crystal are a little taken aback by this space since Team Clinton came in under budget at $1968.45. Even though they adore the bar, the colour scheme is not a hit with them. Although Crystal isn’t a big fan, Will enjoys spending time down there. Paige claims she can’t recall ever having two bad evaluations for the same programme. In the end, even though nobody likes being crammed into Will and Crystal’s room, they’re still friends.
