On Saturday evening, police in Buckeye, Arizona arrested a 17-year-old male in connection with a shooting that took the life of a 15-year-old boy two weeks prior. The detained youth has not yet been positively identified by police.
Brendan Valenzuela, the victim was found by police at the intersection of Crown King Road and 257th Drive at around 3 a.m. on January 22. According to the police report, Valenzuela was taken to the hospital where he passed away later that night.
The police found out that Valenzuela was with a gang of people near the intersection of St. Charles Court and 255th Drive. During the altercation, the 17-year-old reportedly grabbed a handgun and shot Valenzuela. He sped off in an unidentified vehicle while someone else brought Valenzuela to the place where officers were called.
Police said they arrested the 17-year-old and booked him into juvenile detention shortly before midnight on Saturday after serving a search warrant at his Buckeye home on suspicion of murder. (According to data found on Azcentral.com)
