The fourth episode of The Last of Us returns fans to the harsh world of Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) after last week’s breathtakingly sensitive installment, as they face new and frightening forces along their path in the shape of Kathleen (Melanie Lynskey) and her friends.
Last week, Joel and his brother Tommy set off in Bill’s (Nick Offerman) and Frank’s (Murray Bartlett) well-guarded truck with as many survival supplies as they could carry in order to find Tommy, Joel’s brother (Gabriel Luna).
They were driving through the city when they were ambushed by a group of strangers because a tunnel they were trying to take was blocked.
After Ellie shoots one of the attackers to stop him from killing her friend by strangulation, Joel kills the other two men to protect himself and Ellie. They make it out alive, but if Kathleen finds out what they did, it could have catastrophic consequences.

Who is Kathleen and Who Portrays her in The Last of Us?
Melanie Lynskey, known for her roles in Yellowjackets and Don’t Look Up, plays Kathleen in The Last of Us. After Joel and Ellie discover that the city of Kansas City’s QZ (Quarantine Zone), which would have been ruled by the militarised governmental body Fedra, is no longer in action, they discover that Kathleen is the leader of a revolutionary movement and that she and her followers appear to be in control.
Melanie has been in a number of critically acclaimed films, including Heavenly Creatures, Coyote Ugly, Sweet Home Alabama, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Ever After, and Flags of Our Fathers, where she has played a wide range of intriguing parts.
She is well-known for her role as Rose on the TV sitcom Two and a Half Men, and she has won numerous awards for her work in film and television, including a Critics’ Choice Award for her portrayal of Shauna in the film Yellowjackets.
Was Kathleen in Video Game?
Although Kathleen wasn’t a playable character in the video game, she did resemble a few persons from the books that served as inspiration for her part.
