Gidewon has been operating as a nightlife entrepreneur for the past 35 years. Due to the violence, he and his younger brother, Alex had to flee the East African country of Eritrea.
The two brothers would start out in the nightlife industry as valets. In time, the two would rise to the level of club owners with Alex presiding over the defunct Compound nightclub and his partner taking over the other club a block away.
Dr. Howard claims that Gidewon also showed concern for his staff members. His priority was always the welfare of his staff. Those who knew and cared about Gidewon are still processing his tragic death.
