At the age of 71, Linda L. Rice died peacefully on January 13, 2023 at MaineGeneral. She was the daughter of Evelyn and Marcelino Sousa and was born on March 14, 1951, in Augusta. Linda’s hometown is Augusta and she went to high school at Cony.
She was unable to finish high school at the time, but she made it a priority in her life to do so. She received her diploma in 2001. After 22 years at the Carleton Woolen Mill during which she worked in several different departments, she found work as a deli clerk at Walmart.
Her entire career was focused on ensuring that her loved ones had financial security and access to all of life’s comforts and conveniences. She settled down in Augusta with her husband, Leland F. Rice Jr. whom she wed on July 4, 1977.
What Were the hobbies of Linda L. Rice?
Bingo especially at the Grange Hall on Cobbossee Corner, knitting and long car rides with Leland were some of Linda’s favorite things to do. Activities like visiting Santa’s Village and Old Orchard Beach as well as vacations to Orlando, Florida are some of her favorites to do with her family.
Spending time with her family was among Linda’s most treasured activities. She overcame her fear of flying, took a cross-country trip and kept in touch with her loved ones especially the grandchildren by writing letters and traveling extensively.
