What is Irene Cara’s Cause of Death?
TMZ reports that Irene Cara’s official cause of death is arteriosclerotic and hypertensive cardiovascular disease, the result of her hypertension and high cholesterol. Cara was diabetic, as documented in an official report from the Pinellas County Medical Examiner.
Cara first gained widespread attention after performing the musical’s title song and starring as Coco Hernandez in the 1980 production of Fame. She was nominated for two Grammys because of her performance including best new artist and best female pop vocal performance.
