The first official trailer for George Tillman Jr.’s biopic “Big George Foreman: The Miraculous Story of the Once and Future Heavyweight Champion of the World” has been released. It looks at the life of the famous boxer turned minister.
Khris Davis will play Foreman, while Forest Whitaker plays Doc Broadus, the boxer’s longtime trainer and the man who got him started in the sport. Since Sullivan Jones and Muhammad Ali fought in several legendary fights together, including the Rumble in the Jungle in Zaire, Jones has been cast as Ali.
The film will chronicle the high points of Foreman’s boxing career, including his 1968 Olympic gold medal win and his reign as world heavyweight champion. Foreman’s spiritual journey, retirement, and eventual vocation as a preacher will also be covered in this biography.
Last but not least, it will detail his 45-year-old comeback to box as a family and church go through financial difficulties. Eventually, he became the oldest boxer to win the heavyweight championship.
