Nikki Haley Will Run for Presidency Against Trump

Nikki Haley a former governor of South Carolina and current ambassador to the United Nations under Donald Trump is planning to make her candidature for the president publicly. She would make history by challenging her former boss for the 2024 Republican nomination, becoming the first woman to do so.

According to a source familiar with Haley’s preparations, she will announce her campaign on February 15 in Charleston, South Carolina. With Trump’s comeback campaign announcement in November and his recent visit to South Carolina, she is now directly in his path.

The daughter of Indian immigrants has made no secret of her desire to run for president, and her candidature is yet more sign that Trump is losing control of his own party.

According to a survey conducted by Emerson College between January 19 and 21, 2018, 55% of respondents said that Donald Trump would be their first choice for president in 2024. With 29%, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was his closest rival and is widely seen as Trump’s strongest challenger if he runs for president.

DeSantis is ahead of Trump in several surveys. The Florida governor has positioned himself as an alternative to the previous president within the Republican Party by adopting some of the former president’s popular conservative ideals without the baggage.

The survey found that former VP Mike Pence has the support of 6% of respondents, while Haley has only 3%. Former Secretary of State Michael Pompeo and South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem are both rumored to be in the running for the Republican nomination.

Pompeo has just published a memoir, a common precursor to a candidature for the presidency. Haley’s intention to run for office was first revealed by the Charleston Post & Courier. On Saturday, Trump told WIS-TV in South Carolina that he had recently spoken with Haley because she wanted his “advice,” and then he brought up Haley’s claim that she wouldn’t run if he became a contender.

After being elected as governor of South Carolina twice, Haley served as Trump’s ambassador to the UN for two years. Her address, given in the fall of 2021 at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California, called for a return to Reagan-era conservatism.

The “plague of self-doubt” plaguing the United States, she added, was “more devastating than any illness.” Though she strongly disagreed with critical race theory, she did say that the country’s “founders weren’t saints.”

Haley used her own story as an immigrant’s daughter who grew up to enter politics as an illustration of the opportunities available in the United States.

In a January interview with Fox News, she was asked about her plans for the future of her political career. The second query is whether or whether one represents “that person who could be that new leader.”

She then ran down a long list of problems, including inflation, foreign policy, and more. Yes, we do need to strike out a new course, as evidenced by all of the above. Moreover, do you think I have what it takes to lead? Yes. “I believe I can serve as that leader,” Haley declared. (according to Bloomberg)
