Dramise said that she was not surprised to learn that her husband had his most successful batting streaks ever while in Japan, adding, “and could never criticize you for doing what you liked.”
“I do wish I could tell you that one secret I always had, that I loved you. It never really was a secret because I said it at least 10 times a day to you,” she continued. “I can’t wait to see you again. Tonight I hope to ride some pow or bikes with you in my dreams. Love your Wife.”
The father, William Smaine, confirmed his son’s death to NBC News on January 30. He was a professional skier. According to Reuters, the 31-year-old was one of five international skiers who were swept away by the avalanche on Mount Hakuba Norikura in Nagano Prefecture.
