The release date for the next installment in the Call of Duty series has been pushed back. Activision confirmed on Wednesday through Twitter that the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 would not begin on February 1 as previously planned, but on February 15. When the season patch finally arrives, it will include significant changes for both Warzone 2.0 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
Multiplayer ranked play, new multiplayer maps, new modes, new weapons and more are all part of the update as is a new much smaller map for Warzone 2.0, as teased by the official Call of Duty Twitter account. Although we are aware that these additions will be made, Infinity Ward has been very tight-lipped about them, especially the ranked mode and the new Warzone 2.0 map.

A Call of Duty-focused Twitter account Charlie Intel notes that this is the second year in a row that Activision has had to postpone the second season of a new Call of Duty game owing to scheduling concerns. When Season 2 of Call of Duty: Vanguard was delayed last year, it was from February 2 to February 14. This year’s postponement of Modern Warfare 2 follows a very similar timetable.
