The original name of Liz Truss is Mary Elizabeth Truss. She is a British politician who from September to October 2022 led the Conservative Party and served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. She became the shortest-serving prime minister in British history when on her fifty-first day in office she resigned in the midst of a government crisis.

Where Does Lil Truss’s Backstory Begin?
On July 26, 1975 Liz Truss was born to John Truss and Priscilla Truss in Oxford, England. She’s related to Charles Truss whose name was used to give the island in the Thames River its current name so she can claim some sort of royal lineage. Chris, Patrick and Francis are Truss’s younger brothers.

She has been referred to by her middle name since she was a young child. Her mother worked as a nurse and teacher and her father is an emeritus professor of pure mathematics at the University of Leeds. Truss has said that both of her parents are to the left of Labour with her mother being active in the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament.
Truss first ran for Parliament as a Conservative and while her father didn’t support her, her mom did. Truss’s mother ran as a Liberal Democrat in the 2004 election for Leeds City Council, but she lost. By the time Truss was four years old, her family had relocated to Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland, where they stayed until 1985.
After that, she went to Roundhay School, a comprehensive institution in Leeds’s Roundhay neighborhood that she claimed later let down children. While her father taught at Simon Fraser University, she and her family moved to Burnaby, British Columbia, when she was 12 years old where she attended Parkcrest Elementary School.
How Did Lil Truss Start Her Career?
Truss worked for Shell from 1996 to 2000 and it was during this time that she earned her ACMA certification in 1999. Truss joined Cable & Wireless in 2000 and by 2005 he had risen to the position of economic director. Truss lost her first two elections before becoming the full-time deputy director of Reform in January 2008.
There, she called for higher education standards more attention to the problem of serious and organized crime and immediate action to restore Britain’s competitiveness. From 1998 to 2000 Truss presided over the Lewisham Deptford Conservative Association. Truss ran for Greenwich London Borough Council in 1998 for Vanbrugh ward and again in 2002, but he was unsuccessful both times in Blackheath Westcombe. In the Greenwich London Borough Council election of 2006, she won the Eltham South seat on May 4.
