Even though production on Murder Mystery 2 has officially ended, we still don’t know when to anticipate the sequel.
The original film, which starred Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston, was an unexpected smash for Netflix in 2019. The sequel, which stars the same actors, was announced in October 2019.
Behind the scenes, James Vanderbilt, who also wrote the first film, and Jeremy Garelick, who directed it, authored it. The waiting game officially starts now that filming was over in April 2022.
Here is everything you need to know about Murder Mystery 2 while we wait.
Murder Mystery 2 Release date: When will it be available on Netflix?
Although Netflix hasn’t officially announced a release date for Murder Mystery 2, it’s probably reasonable to assume it won’t happen in 2022, as previously said.
The sequel was filmed from February to April 2022, and assuming no reshoots, we’ll think it’s set to go. We’ll have to wait until 2023 because Netflix has already announced its lineup for the remainder of this year.
Given that the first film’s June 2019 release date was a success, we may be able to anticipate its sequel in June 2023. However, this is only speculation, so stay tuned.

Who is returning to the cast of Murder Mystery 2?
Naturally, Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston are returning to their roles as the somewhat contented married pair Nick and Audrey. While Audrey works as a hairdresser and happens to be a fan of murder-mystery books, Nick is a New York City police officer.
There are additionally more recognizable faces. The Maharajah, played by Adeel Akhtar, will return, along with Colonel Ulenga, played by John Kani (Black Panther).
The list of recent additions is extensive: The following actors are all brand-new to the sequel: Tony Goldwyn (Scandal), Kuhoo Verma (The Big Sick), Mélanie Laurent (6 Underground), Jodie Turner-Smith (Anne Boleyn), Enrique Arce (Money Heist), Annie Mumolo (Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar), and Zurin Villanueva (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel).
Joining the cast of Murder Mystery 2 are;
- John Kani as Colonel Ulenga
- Adeel Akhtar as The Maharajah
- Mark Strong
- Melanie Laurent
- Jodie Turner-Smith
- Kuhoo Verma
- Enrique Arce
- Tony Goldwyn

- Annie Mumolo
Their functions have so far remained a secret.
Murder Mystery 2 plot: What will Murder Mystery 2 be about?
We only have the first movie’s events to go on for narrative hints because tiny details have been made public.
In the first film, Nick and Audrey are on vacation in Europe when they are accused of killing a billionaire. We will have to wait and see if they are framed again.
Nick and Audrey were both acquitted in the murder mystery, and due to Interpol, they were given a journey on the illustrious Orient Express and a miraculously intact marriage.
Due to the filming locations (the sequel was filmed in Hawaii and Paris) and the length of time since the original movie, we assume the action won’t take place on the notorious train.
Never rule out the possibility that the pair on the murder train will show up again, thanks to movie magic.
Has a trailer for Murder Mystery 2 been released?
Even though Murder Mystery 2 has concluded filming, we have not seen any new material. If our June 2023 guess is correct, we may still have to wait since Netflix doesn’t usually post movie trailers until close to the premiere date.
You can now watch Murder Mystery on Netflix.
