When did Sean Taylor Die?
On November 18th, 2007, intruders forced their way into Taylor’s vacant home through a window and rifled through his desk and safe. In the early morning hours of November 27th, Taylor heard noises in his home and went to investigate. While there an intruder shot him in the upper leg and he died on the spot. His fiancee Jackie Garcia and their daughter Jackie, who is 18 months old were unharmed.
Taylor’s femoral artery was severed during the fight leading to heavy bleeding and his death the following day. On December 3, 2007, Taylor’s funeral was held at Florida International University’s Pharmed Arena in Miami. Venjah K. Hunte, Eric Rivera, Jason Scott Mitchell and Charles Kendrick Lee Wardlow were all apprehended on November 30. According to the police, multiple individuals came forward with confessions.
An outpouring of national support and sympathy followed his death particularly in the Miami and Washington, DC areas. After his death, he was named to the Pro Bowl for a second time and to the All-Pro second team. In 2008, Taylor was inducted into the Washington State Sports Hall of Fame.

Sean Taylor, the son of police officer Pedro Taylor and Donna Junor was born on April 1, 1983 in Florida. He lived with his great-grandmother Aulga Clarke in Homestead, Florida until he was 11 years old at which point he moved in with his father. Taylor declared his intention to participate in the 2004 NFL Draft after the 2003 season. He met with team representatives and personnel at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, but he did not participate in any of the combined drills.
Taylor was picked by the Washington Redskins in the first round (fifth overall) of the 2004 NFL Draft. From the University of Miami, he was the first of six players including Kellen Winslow II, Jonathan Vilma, D. J. Williams, Vernon Carey and Vince Wilfork) to be selected in the first round.

After watching a video of Taylor’s roadside sobriety tests, a judge in Fairfax County acquitted him of the charges in March 2005, finding no evidence of intoxication. However, a Virginia state police officer requested a blood alcohol test from Taylor and he refused. Nonetheless, at the March 2005 appeal hearing, the judge ruled that there was insufficient evidence to support the request for a BAC test and acquitted Taylor of the charge.

Taylor was wanted by police after shots were fired into a stolen car in June of 2005. Taylor pled no contest to misdemeanour battery and assault charges at a trial in April 2006 receiving 18 months probation and an order to support ten schools in Miami-Dade County by giving a speech about the value of education and donating $1,000 to each of them.
