Alchemy of Souls Part 2: How Many Episodes will be in it?

Alchemy of Souls Part 2

Alchemy of Souls Part 2

You will read details relating to Alchemy of Souls Part 2 below. Alchemy of Souls has been and will continue to be an outlier among period K-dramas thanks to its epic storytelling, well-executed special effects and plenty of fantastical elements. After the first season’s 20 episodes were completed in August, the sequel, titled Alchemy of Souls: Light And Shadow, premiered in December to wrap up the unexplained threads left over at the end of the first season.

Season two of Alchemy of Souls is also set in Daeho, a fictional kingdom inside South Korea that looks to be largely based on the Joseon era of the country, and was written by the famed screenwriting duo the Hong Sisters (of Hong Jung-Eun and Mi-ran).

The first season focused on Jang Wook’s (Lee Jae-Wook) rise to prominence as the most potent sorcerer in Daeho, despite the fact that he was hiding a dark secret involving the illegal practice of soul-shifting. However, Season 2 takes place three years after Season 1’s action-packed conclusion. Now that he has been reborn as the official keeper of the ice stone, Jang Wook has taken on the role of a lone wolf soul-shifter hunter.

Since Alchemy of Souls: Light And Shadow has recently begun airing on tvN and is available on Netflix, you may be wondering what the show is about. Both seasons’ endings will be revealed.

Where to watch Alchemy of Souls Part 2?

The first episode of Alchemy of Souls premiered on Netflix on December 10, and now all future episodes are being simultaneously streamed on the service with English subtitles. A second season will air on the Korean cable channel tvN.

When do new Alchemy of Souls: Light And Shadow episodes come out?

Each Saturday and Sunday at 9:10 p.m. KST, tvN airs the first episode of Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow. There is no official word on when new episodes of K-dramas will be added to Netflix, but previous simulcasts have shown that they often go live on the service about two hours after they air in South Korea.

Season 2 of Alchemy of Souls will premiere on January 8, 2023, and will air on the weekend of that date for the next five weeks.

I was wondering how well-received Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow has been. Fans, new viewers, and critics alike have responded enthusiastically to the premiere of Alchemy of Souls Season 2. A tighter and more fascinating show than its predecessor, as noted by NME’s Tanu I. Raj in a five-star review of the new season.

They went on to explain that “this time around, the program takes away the lingering sequences and goes directly into the mysterious yet terrible aftermath of the first season.” The end effect is a plot that is far more sure of itself and doesn’t feel the need to wow viewers with spectacular CGI (though there is plenty of that, too).

The premiere of season two also had a sizable audience in South Korea; a December 11 survey from Nielsen Korea found that it had an average nationwide rating of 6.7%. The first season premiered to an average of 5.2% of the country, therefore this is an improvement. After a huge increase in viewers, episode two of season two eventually got a rating of 7.7 percent.

How would you describe the storyline in Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow?

Once again, Jang Wook is introduced to the audience, this time using Nak-sword su’s to fight soul shifters. Even though he has found a new (though temporary) reason to live, he still spends much of his time moping around by himself and thinking about Nak-su when he isn’t chasing soul shifters. Because of his run-in with a soul shifter, he meets Jin Bu-yeon (Go Yoon-jung), the lady who was the first Nak-su.

However, Bu-yeon has no recall of the three years that have passed since the events of the first season, during which time she has been widely assumed to be dead. She has recently escaped from Jinyowon and uses their chance meeting to ask Jang Wook to marry her. Despite his refusal, the two go on an adventure together, and their old spark from when they were Nak-su and Jang Wook seems to be reigniting.

Where will Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow move from here and what will the upcoming episodes cover?

Alchemy of Souls Part 2 Upcoming Episodes

Episode 2 (which aired on December 11) concluded with Jang Wook falsely announcing that he is married to Bu-yeon. According to the trailer for Episode 3 at the end of Episode 2, Jang Wook’s declaration was met with resistance. As he participates in a furious combat in the center of a courtyard, he proclaims, “If my powers can be deemed justification, I would like to see you attempt arguing with that.” I was hoping for this, Bu-yeon (or Naksu) says Jang Wook.

While this is going on, Jin Mu begins to wonder if Bu-yeon is really who she claims to be and decides to learn as much as he can about her. Later, he is shown utilizing the jade to call upon Nak-spirit su in an effort to divert Jang Wook’s attention.

The stakes for Jang Wook, who must learn to control the power of the ice stone or risk death if he ever removes it, will be detailed in greater depth in future episodes. See the complete Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow trailer down below:
