Julia Haart Sues Silvio Scaglia for $257 Million During Divorce

Actress Julia Haart of My Unorthodox Life is suing her ex-husband Silvio Scaglia for $257 million, claiming that she was forced into “indentured servitude” by her spouse.

On Thursday, July 8, the 51-year-old former reality star filed a lawsuit in New York Supreme Court, alleging that Scaglia, 63, committed multiple crimes in an apparent attempt to keep his money.

According to a scathing court filing obtained by Us Weekly, “Silvio Scaglia is a liar and a fraud. While he holds himself out to the media and others as a billionaire, in truth, Scaglia’s so-called wealth is nothing more than smoke and mirrors.” The filing claims that while Scaglia did make a profit of over €700 million from his investment in Italian telecommunications company Fastweb, he had lost all of

The problem isn’t that Scaglia is poor; it’s that he allegedly stole the salary of the former La Perla creative director from the model and talent agency they co-own, Elite World Group LLC (EWG).

As Haart’s lawyers put it, “unbeknownst to Haart, prior to transferring 50% of the shares of FHI to Haart, Scaglia surreptitiously amended FHI’s Articles of Incorporation to permit him to have FHI issue Preferred Shares of FHI stock to himself which gave Scaglia sole voting and dispositive power over all of FHI’s business and affairs.”

“Her ownership and control of FHI were totally illusory and she had no capacity to prevent Scaglia from receiving all of the money given by EWG for Haart’s important services as CEO for himself,” the documents state.

Batsheva and Ben’s split-up Explanations

Not only is Julia Haart leaving her spouse, but just days before Julia’s announcement, Batsheva Haart announced her divorce from Ben Weinstein.

Us Weekly quoted Batsheva as saying, “After time and contemplation we have taken the decision to split. We have so much love and respect for each other but have realized that it is time to take some distance to ensure that each of us lives the most joyful, full lives possible.”

We are just two best friends who met when we were very young and have developed over the previous nine years in our own ways, and we are so grateful for your unwavering support as we start this next chapter of our lives on our own.

They tied the knot when they were only 19 years old, and according to Rolling Stone, they have since been at odds over when to start a family.

The legal conflicts between Julia and Silvio have been heated

A restraining order was filed by Julia against Silvio after she was fired, and Silvio has since filed a lawsuit against her for $850,000, claiming that she “illegally took” the money from a joint business account they had, as reported. Silvio also claimed in a letter that Julia had spent too much money and abused her position as CEO of Elite World Group.

According to reports, Julia sued Silvio in Delaware in February 2022 for “damages following her firing, saying proof indicated she owned 50% of the company.” However, the court sided with Silvio in May, ruling that Julia did not legitimately own 50% of their companies.

Following her divorce filing in July 2022, Julia sued Silvio for almost $257 million, “claiming he scammed her out of millions from their business,” as reported by ET.

Former workers of Julia’s have spoken out

One of Julia’s former assistants told The New York Post, “Julia was enraged at us, she berated us… It was horrific, so much yelling,” according to reports. This seems to back up Silvio’s claims about working for Julia.

Some employees recounted being awakened around 3 a.m. on their days off to help Julia locate a Starbucks or to bring a relative’s passport to a foreign country. Everything about Christmas was ruined because of them. One former worker complained, “All we got was a thank you.”

For a long time, I hid my phone beneath my pillow in case she called. Another worker shared, “I left that hell hole and I never looked back; however, I do suffer from PTSD and talking about it brings up a lot.”
