After hearing rumours that major brands like Apple and Amazon may begin advertising on Twitter, Elon Musk expressed gratitude to those companies on Saturday.

The message came after technology news outlet Platformer reported that Amazon would begin advertising on Twitter again with yearly spending of $100 million.

After Musk paid $44 billion to acquire the social networking platform in late October, several advertisers, including Amazon, began pulling their campaigns. Many of those businesses have made a comeback recently. After a number of precautions have been taken to ensure safety, Amazon hopes to join that group.
Musk announced during a two-hour Twitter Space on Saturday that Apple, the platform’s largest advertiser, has “completely restarted” advertising on Twitter.
This comes after Musk’s comments last week, claiming that Apple had “largely” stopped advertising on Twitter and threatened to “withhold” the social networking platform from the app store.
Neither Apple nor Amazon has publicly addressed these rumours. While Musk, who calls himself a “free speech absolutist,” has tried to reassure advertisers that the platform would not become “a free-for-all hellscape,” their concerns about the company’s moderation practises remaining.
