Star Trek: Picard Season 3: Although it was a huge treat to have Sir Patrick Stewart play Jean-Luc again in Star Trek: Picard, the series’ conclusion seems to be approaching all too quickly. Only one more episode remains before we say goodbye to the series forever, but will this mean the end of the character as well, or will he make a return appearance in the ever-expanding Star Trek canon?
Well, at least season two won’t make us wait as long as season three did. Production officials at Star Trek agreed to film seasons two and three simultaneously in case the pandemic caused more delays in production.
You have to admit that your reasoning is quite brilliant, right? To make it absolutely ideal for viewers, the series now needs only to be assembled and given the A-List treatment in terms of special effects.
When will the third season of Star Trek: The Next Generation’s Picard premiere on TV?
Fans of Star Trek: Picard can rest easy knowing that the series’ third and final season will premiere on February 12, 2023. As part of the announcement, a brand new teaser trailer was released.
Season three was shot right after season two wrapped, which was difficult for everyone involved (especially Patrick Stewart).
After the season two conclusion, the show’s fan-favorite captain told that production on season three had concluded in March of 2022. Sir Patrick said he was “still healing from it” five weeks later, which has us quite excited about what’s to come.

It was a “quite heated” battle, as Sir Patrick put it. “We finished shooting the ten episodes of Season 2 at around 7 o’clock at night, and we started shooting Episode 1 of Season 3 at 7 o’clock the next morning. It continued on like that for the better part of a year and a half. It’s been more than a year, I’m sure of it”.

What will happen in Star Trek: Picard Season 3?
During an interview after the season two finale Patrick Stewart gave a sneak peek at the Next Generation cast’s return for the upcoming third season. It is not a reassembling, but we shall meet them. This goes beyond merely reconnecting with old friends. All the characters serve a purpose, and that’s all I can say about Season 3, which is shaping out to be quite intriguing. And of course, there will be a lot more focus on the maturation of the characters we’ve come to know and love.
Details on the plot are still scarce, although Stewart has hinted that Season 3 may be the best yet. In retrospect, I can recall wondering aloud, “Where the hell are we headed from here?” after reading the second season finale for the first time. Because it appeared like there was a resolution,” he added.
My initial thought was, “Oh no, are we going to be wrapped early, and the program will disappear?” We did not, however. And in many ways, season three proved to be among the most engaging of episodes and moments that we had throughout the entire show.
However, beyond that, what exactly does the future hold? And with that, Sir Patrick seems to have put an end to the world after the final batch of episodes with his words.
Picard “may have delivered his final words and taken his last look at his colleagues,” he told Variety. The way we wrap up Season 3 was excellent, in my opinion. Perfect. My eyes well up with tears every time I recall it, but it’s wonderful all the same. The third season will have a cinematic vibe no matter what occurs.
Showrunner Alex Kurtzman remarked, “Terry Matalas was so in love – in the most beautiful manner possible – with the idea of saying, ‘I want to see that last Next Gen movie, that movie that I never got to see” (via TrekMovie). But let’s stretch it out across ten episodes and have one massive climax. And he came through with flying colors.

Because the reality is, everyone would have felt shortchanged if we had sat down and said, “Let’s produce a Next Gen movie, and you’ve got two hours to introduce all these people. It’s impossible that plan would have succeeded. The fact that we were able to say our goodbyes to Picard over the course of 10 hours strikes me as a touching tribute to the man. It’s a touching tribute to the Star Trek fandom and the show’s enduring influence.
Is there any word on when we may expect to see the Star Trek: Picard season 3 trailer?
The teaser, which clocks in at just under a minute and a half, opens with Admiral Jean-Luc Picard getting an SOS transmission and then seeking the aid of an old friend, Riker (Jonathan Frakes), at a local watering hole.
Now he insists he isn’t requesting that he risk his life in any way, but the implication is clear. After watching it (and rewatching it), we’re confident that you’ll come to your own conclusions.
We’ve seen the complete trailer and it looks incredible.
