Season 4 of “Miss Scarlet and the Duke” is currently in production
Miss Scarlet and the Duke Season 3 will begin on PBS in early January, just after the network aired the final episode of Season 2 on November 20. (PBS Passport subscribers can watch the most recent season right now.) Now that season three has concluded, we can move on to season four with confidence.
“Miss Scarlet fans, the good news continues rolling in! After Season 2 concluded and Season 3 began airing on @PBS Passport and the PBS MASTERPIECE Prime Video Channel, the PBS Masterpiece Twitter account tweeted, “We are thrilled to share the series has been renewed for Season 4 and filming is begun.”
Star Kate Phillips is “very psyched” for Miss Scarlet and The Duke Season 2
Kate Phillips, who plays Eliza in the show, informed viewers that the show has been renewed through her social media accounts. The Peaky Blinders star revealed season 4 production was beginning on her Instagram Story, and she couldn’t contain her excitement.
Phillips wasn’t the only actor to welcome the new season with enthusiasm. Finale of Season 4 in a flash. Cathy Belton, who plays Eliza’s dependable servant Ivy, tweeted that they had resumed shooting. Stuart Martin co-stars with Eliza as a police inspector named William “The Duke” Wellington in Miss Scarlet and The Duke. Ansu Kaiba plays her underworld link Moses.
Phillips weighs in on Eliza’s connection with William, claiming ‘they couldn’t succeed as a pair right now
Eliza and William’s tangled friendship is at the heart of Miss Scarlet and The Duke. Though there’s an underlying s*xual tension between the two, neither is eager to take their relationship to another level.
Recently, Phillips stated in a PBS behind-the-scenes film, “They’ve yet to traverse their romantic path” (via YouTube). And I think we’ll find out pretty soon that they have a lot of personal issues to deal with before they’re ready to [do that]. Martin concurred. The fact that “they each have such strong identities which are so closely tied to their work” is the “major issue that stands in the way, or might stand in the way,” he said.
While many viewers may be hoping that Eliza and William finally end up together, Phillips said that it’s for the best they’re still keeping each other at arm’s length. She explained that the pair’s current differences made it impossible for them to be a happy couple.
