Witney Carson Announces Her Second Pregnancy

Dancing with the Stars on Monday night wasn’t just exciting since it was the semifinals of season 31.

Witney Carson, a professional dancer who is 29 years old, announced live on air that she is expecting her second child with husband Carson McAllister after introducing the show with her celebrity partner Wayne Brady.

She was referring to her firstborn, Leo who was born on January 3, 2021. Alfonso Ribeiro, who is co-hosting this season’s DWTS alongside Tyra Banks, and Witney won the competition in Season 19.

Leo, a 22-month-old boy, is already a parent to the couple.

“I’m so excited to finally announce that Carson, Leo and myself are expecting baby number two,” Witney told Dancing With the Stars co-host Alfonso Ribeiro. “I’m so blessed. This just felt like a good time to share it. I can finally share it, which is great!”

Wayne Brady, Witney’s partner, as well as Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Emma Slater from Dancing With the Stars hugged her right away. Witney announced the arrival of Leo in January 2021, but she also confessed that things didn’t exactly go according to plan during the delivery.

“After a really hard 24-hour labour, and an unexpected c-section…we are all healthy and well,” she shared on Instagram. “We are so grateful & we’ve been soaking up every moment with our perfect angel boy. Thank you for all the prayers!”

Later, Witney revealed that she had COVID-19 when Leo was born. She told People in May, “I’m delighted that we’re passed that. It was extremely difficult.” “I was stressed out.”

The ballerina, who wed Carson on January 1, 2016, emphasised that circumstances were particularly challenging at the time because both her husband and her in-laws had the illness. She remarked, “It’s crazy how it worked out,” noting that the whole family has since recovered. “At this point, just that matters.”

With her partner Wayne, the Emmy-nominated choreographer has consistently been near the top of the leaderboard.

She won the Mirrorball trophy in season 19 of 2014 alongside the aforementioned Alfonso, who boasted “I’ve known this for a while!” after she made her big announcement.

On Disney+, Dancing With the Stars is broadcast live every Monday at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
