Bridgerton, the historical romance on Netflix from Shondaland is enormous. What size? In only four weeks, 627 million hours of season 2 were watched. It was a must-see in 190 nations, bringing the comforting pleasures of Regency England to every part of the planet.
Its multicultural, colorblind cast of characters (and their exhilaratingly steamy love affairs) have contributed to shifting perceptions about how historical settings may be portrayed on television. And you’re in for another treat, kind reader.
The emphasis of Shonda Rhimes and her production company, Shondaland is on Queen Charlotte’s adolescent self and her best friends Violet and Agatha who would later go on to become Lady Bridgerton and Lady Danbury, respectively.
The most talked-about character in Bridgerton is the biracial Charlotte, who is half-Guyanese and half-English and is portrayed by Guyanese-British actress Golda Rosheuvel. Her genesis narrative will include her relationship with her future husband, George and her love of snuff, Pomeranians and high-rise wigs.

When Will Netflix Release Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story?
Although No official release date has been set, the series is probably going to air in 2023. However, we do know that there will be eight episodes, with “Queen to Be” serving as the premiere and introducing pre-royal Charlotte. Expect Netflix to come out with more information shortly to help you plan that binge-watch. Argh, etc.
Is There A Trailer For Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story?
Although there isn’t a trailer yet, a first-look clip was shown in September during Netflix’s Tudum fan event. Look down below.
What is Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story About?
The tale of the clever and obstinate Queen Charlotte (India Amarteifio) and George (Corey Mylchreest), the man she would marry and raise 15 children with is set in the same period as Netflix’s Emmy-winning Bridgerton. As everyone who has watched The Madness of King George will know, George, the future King George III and his issues with his mental health may have some bearing on the plot.
We can only guess where the narrative of this spin-off series could take us as Queen Charlotte isn’t mentioned in Julia Quinn’s “Bridgerton” novels about the love tales of the eight Bridgerton siblings. We do have some knowledge of the actual Queen Charlotte and Bridgerton supporters are familiar with this world of planned marriages, polite behavior and heaving breasts.
In the form of a fictitious novelization of the Netflix series, Quinn and Shonda Rhimes are working together to create a literary interpretation of the life of Queen Charlotte, also known as German noblewoman Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. It will be released in time for the Netflix premiere of the program.
In Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, Who Is Portrayed?
Alumni of S*x Education in India Corey Mylchreest (The Sandman) is appearing as the younger George, while Amarteifio is portraying the younger Queen Charlotte. Naturally, keep an eye out for Bridgerton’s Golda Rosheuvel who will be repeating her role as the senior Queen. It is unknown at this time if the elder King George will appear or who will portray him.
Adjoa Andoh plays the elder Lady Agatha Danbury, a Bridgerton figure that also transfers while newcomer Arsema Thomas portrays the younger Agatha.
Connie Jenkins-Greig plays the younger Violet Bridgerton, while Ruth Gemmell is back as Lady Violet Bridgerton. Michelle Fairley is returning as Princess Augusta Danbury from Game of Thrones.

Where is Queen Charlotte Being Filmed?
Although the teaser trailer discreetly hides the show’s secrets behind a dressing room screen, we anticipate seeing Hampton Court substitute for Queen Charlotte’s residence Buckingham House (now known as Buckingham Palace), in the clip.
The Holburne Museum in Bath, Kew Gardens and Belton House, a stately mansion in the middle of Lincolnshire are a few more rumored places. The Bridgerton family’s house, The Ranger’s House in Blackheath, could also make an appearance.
