In Manchester City’s 3-1 victory over Brighton on Saturday Erling Haaland scored twice bringing his Premier League total to an amazing 17 goals in 11 games.

The city remains in second place behind leaders Arsenal who will be in action on Sunday, thanks to a late screamer from Kevin De Bruyne.

Three players were replaced by Pep Guardiola from the team that lost to Liverpool last weekend, and Aymeric Laporte was given his first start of the year at the back.

During the 19th minute, Haaland was taken to the ground by goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, and he immediately demanded a penalty kick. However, both referee Craig Pawson and the Video Assistant Referee ruled against Haaland (VAR).

Minutes later, Haaland broke the deadlock after pushing off Brighton defender Adam Webster and slotting the ball into an empty net. The Norway striker proceeded to play with the Brighton defense and added another goal in the 43rd minute, this time from the penalty spot.

As the second half continued, Brighton stepped up their play and in minute 54, they were rewarded when Leandro Trossard scored an equalizer with a long-range rocket from the edge of the box.

While Roberto De Zerbi’s team pressed for an equalizer De Bruyne scored a game-winning goal with a beautifully curled attempt from 25 yards out in the 75th minute.
