More than a year has passed since the conclusion of Loki Season 1, but the series finale confirmed that more episodes will be coming, making it the first Marvel Cinematic Universe Disney+ series to receive such a reveal. Currently, not much has been revealed regarding Loki Season 2, other than the fact that it will air.
The revelation that Ke Huy Quan, who played Indiana Jones in Temple of Doom, will be joining the cast of Loki’s next adventure was made alongside a brief look at the film during this year’s D23 Expo. After Sophia Di Martino’s Sylvie ripped open the sealed chronology in the first season, the second will feature “a war for the spirit of the TVA.”
After beginning production in June, a fresh production update suggests that things are going smoothly, and Season 2 is on track to premiere on Disney+ in the middle of 2023.
Loki Season 2 Wraps Filming
Principal photography for Season 2 of Loki appears to have concluded, as evidenced by a series of Instagram images from the show’s hair and makeup team (at least in London).
They all depicted the cast and crew having a good time on “wrap day.” Whether or not the team is only referring to their time spent filming in London is currently unknown.
Hair, wig, and makeup artist Diana Estrada Hudson posted a photo of two crew members hugging while wearing their Loki Season 2 jackets and the Dr. Seuss statement, “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened,” to Instagram, but afterward removed it.
In another photo, one of the crew members wears a hat from the set that features the series’ most popular character, Ms. Minutes.

Is Filming Completed on Season 2 of “Loki”?
If the second season of Loki is indeed finished filming, then progress is being made far more quickly than some may have anticipated. The production began filming in London in June, so at this time it has been underway for about four months.
With the series concluded, the release date from Summer 2023 could be brought forward. More likely, though, is that this is simply a case of finished work in one spot. It’s possible that today is the last day of filming for this particular crew behind the scenes.
The group may soon pack up and go to a different part of the world, requiring a new crew for things like hair and makeup. In addition, there is the usual Marvel Studios reshoot timetable to consider. There will almost certainly be reshoots in the next weeks/months, even if principal photography on Loki is indeed complete.
The second season of Loki will premiere on Disney+ in the summer of 2023.
