Anne Heche Early Life
Originally named Anne Celeste Heche, Anne Heche entered the world on May 25, 1969, in Aurora, Ohio. Heche was the youngest of five children; her older siblings Nathan, Abigail, and Susan all predeceased her by two months due to congenital heart disease. Anne’s family relocated over a dozen times throughout her formative years.
In an interview with Larry King in 2001, Heche revealed that her father had been a choir director and said, “I seriously doubt he was able to support himself on it. According to him, he works in the oil and gas industry. Indeed, he maintained that view right up until his final breath. However, he was never a part of the oil and gas industry.”
When Anne was 12 years old, her family finally put down roots in New Jersey, renting a room from a Christian family. To assist her family gets on their feet, Heche took a job at a Swainton dinner theatre.

Leaving Los Angeles for Cantua Creek (near Fresno, California) in August of 2000, Heche walked 1.5 miles into the desert with nothing but a bra and shorts before knocking on a total stranger’s house. Anne Heche was invited into a house by its occupant, Araceli Campiz, after the latter recognized her from the film “Six Days, Seven Nights.”
Once inside, Heche drank several glasses of water, showered, requested a pair of slippers, and announced that she wished to watch a film. Campiz contacted the authorities after seeing that Anne showed no signs of wanting to leave. Heche told the deputies that she was God and that she was “coming to take everyone back to heaven in a spaceship” when they got to the house.
After that, the deputies called an ambulance to take Anne to University Medical Center in Fresno (about a 50-mile journey) where she was admitted to the psychiatric ward. After being held for a few hours, Heche was freed. Anne claims that her father’s s*xual assault of her as a child caused her to be “crazy” for the first 31 years of her life. She explained that she dealt with this by inventing the “Fourth Dimension” and assuming the identity of an alternate reality god-figure named “Celestia.” In an interview with Larry King Live from 2001, Heche said:
“I had to live through a lot of life to get to the place where I am now. I had to see truths and work through shame, and I’m very grateful for every step that I took.”
Anne was engaged in an accident in August of 2022 in Mar Vista, California when she allegedly crashed her Mini Cooper into the parking garage of a nearby apartment building.
