Viewers will get more of an idea of what happened to destroy the longtime friends’ friendship in the first half of the upcoming season. “The solution will be revealed this year, but in the meantime, Kate is still dealing with the emotional fallout from Johnny’s [Ben Lawson] disastrous trip to Iraq, and Tully After 16 episodes, ‘Firefly Lane’ will end being sued for leaving her talk show and has to start her career from scratch.
To combat the reluctance of her secretive hippie mother, Cloud [Beau Garrett], she sets out on a quest to track down the father she never knew as part of her effort to learn more about her background “This is what the press release says.
“As Kate Tully’s career grows as she spars (and flirts!) with arrogant sportscaster Danny Diaz, we watch her and Johnny fall in love for the first time in the 1980s, producing more than a little drama in the newsroom where they both work. If they can put their differences aside for more than five minutes, she may have finally met her match.

Joining Heigl and Chalke are four new cast members: India de Beaufort (Charlotte), Greg Germann (Benedict), Jolene Purdy (Justine), and Ignacio Serricchio (Danny).

When will Firefly Lane Season 2 be released? Heigl turned to Chalke and spilled the beans after reading a message from a fan on social media. “I don’t know if you’re getting this as much as I am, but the question “Is there going to be a season 2?” pops up in almost every conversation I have. When you say anything like that, I can’t help but respond with a “Guys… absolutely!”
The second season will be produced! Chalke exclaimed, and then they all “virtually cheered” via Zoom to show their approval. We don’t know everything just yet, but you can rest assured that it will be well worth the wait.
Chalke also hinted at what’s to come for Tully and Kate after the season 1 finale, which saw the longtime friends at odds over an unknown rivalry. “So, this issue between Tully and Kate, we can’t say much, but we can say that it’s family linked,” she said. As an added bonus, “this has nothing to do with Johnny.”

Firefly Lane, based on Kristin Hannah’s 2008 novel of the same name, chronicles the lives of best friends Tully and Kate over the course of three decades. Tully’s success as the host of the daytime chat shows The Girlfriend Hour leads Kate to marry Johnny (Ben Lawson), a friend of Tully’s and the producer of the show. The couple had a daughter together but later divorced.
