Smile 2022 Showtimes: Paramount’s upcoming horror-thriller Smile is about a supernatural entity that coerces its victims into smiling, but what else can we expect from the film?
Paramount has released the first trailer for their upcoming horror thriller, Smile, and here is everything you need to know about the film. The film, starring Sosie Bacon, centers on a doctor who must confront a supernatural foe whose victims share a common trait: a permanent grin.
It’s true that Smile didn’t get a lot of attention before its release due to the crowded nature of the late summer movie season but the film is still worth anticipating.
Sosie Bacon, Jessie T. Usher, Kal Penn, and others will star in the horror film Smile, set to be released in 2022. After a traumatic experience with one of her patients, Dr. Rose Cotter (Bacon) must unravel the mystery of a supernatural threat in this horror film.
Parker Finn making his directorial debut adapted his short film Laura Hasn’t Slept into the feature film Smile. Even though the first trailer has only recently been unveiled there isn’t much time for fans to wonder about the film’s mysteries because Smile is set to hit theaters very soon.
What About The Characters Of “Smile”?
The stars of Smile aren’t exactly Hollywood’s A-list but that doesn’t mean they aren’t good. Sosie Bacon, who you may recognize from Mare of Easttown, plays Dr. Rose Cotter, the good doctor who tries to stop the evil spirit.
The rest of Smile’s cast is also set in stone though the production hasn’t revealed their names or roles in the story just yet. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe Netflix shows, Rob Morgan reprises his role as Turk as a prisoner who witnesses the supernatural being but miraculously survives.

The trailer features Jessie T. Usher, who is probably best known for his role as A-Train in The Boys but further information about his character is currently scarce.
Actors Kal Penn, Judy Reyes, and Caitlin Stasey all of whom have starred in critically acclaimed shows of late also appear in Smile.
Smile’s Storyline
One of Dr. Cotter’s patients develops an enormous grin and dives headfirst into a traumatic, violent outburst after seeing a paranormal entity. To help her process the death of her patient, Cotter begins to notice a pattern of similar deaths prompting her to begin an investigation.
Cotter quickly realizes that her pursuit of the case puts her life in danger after she discovers that these patients develop their freaky smiles a few days after seeing the entity.
Soon, Cotter comes across a man who has had an encounter with the spirit but somehow managed to survive, giving her hope that she can defeat the beast. Although Smile’s monster functions similarly to Samara Morgan in The Ring/Ringu, the film is expected to give its smiling ghoul its own distinctive spin.
Release Date Of Smile 2022 Showtimes
Both the teaser and the first trailer for Smile didn’t debut until May and June of 2022, respectively but the film’s release is imminent.
On September 30, 2022, Smile will premiere in theaters only. A home video or digital release will follow, likely in the following months.
