Christopher Scarver Early Life
Scarver, the middle child of five, was raised in Milwaukee. He dropped out of James Madison High School in his junior year due to alcoholism and was finally evicted from his mother’s home. At the Wisconsin Conservation Corps, Scarver was recruited as a trainee carpenter.
His supervisor, Edward Patts, allegedly told him that if he completed the program, he would be hired on permanently; however, Patts was later fired, and Scarver was never offered a permanent position. As a result, Scarver became an excessive drinker, and it was when he was under the influence he started hearing voices proclaiming him to be “the chosen one.”
Initially Convicted of Murder
When Scarver arrived at the Wisconsin Conservation Corps training program office on June 1, 1990, he met Steve Lohman, the new supervisor who had succeeded Edward Patts. Scarver held Lohman at gunpoint and demanded cash; when Lohman gave him $15, Scarver became upset and shot him in the head.
Simultaneously, he asked site manager John Feyen for money. Police report that Scarver made the following statement “Do you take me seriously, Adolf Hitler? I need to get my hands on some more cash.” Following Lohman’s death, Scarver fired two more shots at him, and Feyen offered Scarver a check for $3,000.
In 1992, Scarver was sentenced to life in prison and transferred to the Columbia Correctional Institution in Portage, Wisconsin after being found guilty.

Did Jeffrey Dahmer’s Murder Make Christopher Scarver Famous?
Scarver was in the news again in 2015 when he gave an interview to the New York Post in which he discussed his role in Dahmer’s murder. Both ended in Columbia Correctional Institution, where Scarver claims the other inmates were mocked by his making fake limbs out of the food. According to Scarver’s Post interview, “He crossed the line with several people,” including inmates and prison employees. “There are some penitent inmates, but he was not one of them.”
While interrogated by police in 1991, Dahmer admitted to killing 17 youths and men over a decade. History.com reports that a jury declared him sane and guilty of 15 murders the following year and he was given 15 consecutive life sentences.
On November 28th, 1994, inmates Jeffrey Dahmer, Steven Scarver, and Jesse Anderson were assigned to clean the facilities at the prison’s gymnasium. Scarver told the Post that he challenged Dahmer in the gym with a metal bar after reading about Dahmer’s murders in a newspaper clipping. He recalls asking the man if he engaged in such conduct “because I was extremely disgusted.” Astonished, he said. A resounding “yes”; he certainly was. He quickly began to search for exits. Because of my defenses, he couldn’t get through.
Scarver then used the bar to smash Dahmer’s head. Scarver told the newspaper, “He ended up dead.” I lowered his gaze to the ground. Scarver then murdered Anderson, who had been incarcerated since 1992 for the murder of his wife. He admitted guilt and was given two further life terms in prison for the killings.
Is Christopher Scarver Still Alive?
Scarver, who is currently serving multiple life sentences, has begun self-publishing collections of poetry while incarcerated. His Amazon author page describes him as “writing songs, music compositions, short stories, poems, and jail policy proposals, as well as making creative art,” suggesting that he disputes many of the Post’s claims.
According to the Amazon summary, Scarver hopes to use the American Prisoner Repatriation Act (APRA) funds to fund his mechanical and electrical engineering education. As of 2012, he was trying to sell a tell-all book about his role in Dahmer’s murder. TMZ claims that Dahmer’s “sick, cruel mind games and practical jokes” on his fellow inmates would be exposed in the forthcoming book.
Several poetry collections, including “The Child Left Behind” (2015), are available. To play Scarver in DAHMER, Furly Mac has been cast. The rising star has appeared in two films, The United States vs. Billie Holiday (as the elevator attendant) and Star (as Mike Mike). Furly’s first collaboration with Ryan Murphy might start a fruitful professional relationship.
