“Don’t Worry Darling” At Box Office
“Don’t Worry Darling” makes $19 million at the theatres. Nick Kroll, Florence Pugh, Chris Pine, Olivia Wilde, Sydney Chandle, Harry Styles, and Gemma Chan, from left to right, are part of the cast at the 79th Venice International Film Festival in 2022.
Wilde’s second movie as a director reportedly cost more than $35 million to make and had a lot of drama behind the scenes. Shia LaBeouf was reportedly fired from the lead role in August 2020. Harry Styles signed on to take the role.
Wilde and Jason Sudeikis broke up after being engaged for seven years in November 2020. She was then seen holding hands with Styles before he officiated his manager’s wedding in January 2021. Box Office Mojo says that the movie made an estimated $9.5 million on Friday, $5.8 million on Saturday, and almost $4 million on Sunday. This helped it stay at the top of the box office all weekend.
“The Woman King,” which came out on September 16, came in second with $11 million, and a re-release of “Avatar” by James Cameron came in third with $10 million.
Olivia Wilde’s Instagram Post
On Friday, Olivia posted a photo from behind the scenes of her, Pugh, Styles, and screenwriter Katie Silberman reading scripts on set.
“Don’t Worry, Darling is now open,” Wilde wrote in the photo’s caption. “Aaahhhhhhhh!!!!!!! I’m so grateful to have had this experience and to the group of artists who worked so hard to make it happen. We all got together to tell you a story, and we hope you enjoy it.”
Florence Pugh, who plays Alice Chambers in DWD, stopped doing any kind of promotion in Italy before the film’s premiere at the Venice Film Festival. She also didn’t say anything about the movie on social media until it appeared in theatres.
Fans also thought they saw Styles spit on Chris Pine at a screening at the Venice Film Festival. This was after an agitated red carpet where Harry and Olivia were kept apart and Florence never talked to Olivia.
“This is a crazy story…
“It’s a complete lie and the result of a strange online trick that is false and leads to silly rumors,” Pine’s representative told Fox News Digital. “To be clear, Harry Styles did not spit on Chris Pine.”
It’s unclear why Pugh chose not to talk about her role in the movie, but Wilde recently talked about a big scandal when Shia LaBeouf, originally cast as Jack, had to be fired.
She said of LaBeouf, “His process did not fit with the style I look for in my productions.” “He has a method that, in some ways, seems to need a fighting spirit, which I don’t think makes for the best performances.
“I think the best way to get people to do their best work is to make sure they feel safe and trust each other. It’s my job to protect the production and the cast. It was my job.”
LaBeouf’s ex-girlfriend, FKA Twigs, filed a lawsuit against him in December 2020, saying that he physically, mentally, and emotionally abused her. The case is still going on, and the trial is set for April 2023.
“After this happened, I learned a lot about his behavior that really bothered me… “I knew that, especially for a movie like this, I would be asking Florence to be in very dangerous situations, so my top priority was to make her feel safe and supported,” Wilde said.
In an open letter to “Don’t Worry, Darling” director Wilde, LaBeouf recently addressed rumors that he was fired from the movie and said that he had been sober for 627 days. The lawsuit against FKA Twigs was filed in Los Angeles on December 11, 2020, three days after he started his journey to get sober.
