Nick Cannon

The actor, host, and comedian Nick Cannon is a household name for many people worldwide. However, his fame has increased with his expanding family in the past few years. This new addition will make Nick Cannon a grandfather to seven children, as his pregnancy was announced in June. Many snarky comments and memes were posted in response to the news, but his actions were not random.

Who Is Nick Cannon?

The American television host, actor, rapper, and comedian Nicholas Scott Cannon was born on October 8, 1980. Cannon’s television career began as a teenager on All That and has since included hosting roles on shows like Wild ‘n Out, America’s Got Talent, Lip Sync Battle Shorties, and The Masked Singer. Drumline, Love Don’t Cost a Thing, and Roll Bounce are just a few of the movies in which he appeared.

His first album under his name was released in 2003, and it featured the hit single “Gigolo,” a collaboration with R. Kelly. In the 2007 film Goal II: Living the Dream, he portrayed the fictional football player TJ Harper. Both “Dime Piece” and “My Wife” were recorded by Cannon in 2006 for an album titled Stages that was never released.

Nick Cannon’s Early Life

The birth of Cannon took place on October 8th, 1980, in San Diego, California. Cannon’s paternal grandfather, who Cannon and his biological father both referred to as “dad,” was largely responsible for raising him.

Cannon spent his formative years in the gang-infested Bay Vista Housing Projects in Lincoln Park, Southeast San Diego. He claimed to have quit the “Lincoln Park Bloods” after the death of a close friend when he was a teenager; however, he had been a gang member at the time. In Spring Valley, California, he attended Monte Vista High School, where he was president of the African Student Coalition and on the track and field team before graduating in 1998. Cannon’s first big break came when he performed stand-up comedy on his father’s community cable access show.

Cannon was a member of the rap group “Da G4 Dope Bomb Squad” as a teenager; the group performed as opening acts for artists like Will Smith, LFO, 98 Degrees, and Montell Jordan.

After signing with Jive Records in 2001, he performed a rendition of the 1988 smash “Parents Just Don’t Understand” alongside Romeo Miller and 3LW on the Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius album. The song “Your Pops Don’t Like Me (I Don’t Like This Dude)” was featured on his self-titled debut album, published in 2003.

Cannon released his second studio album, Stages, in 2005 on his label, Can-I-Ball Records. The album’s first single, the anti-abortion song “Can I Live?,” was published in July of 2005, and the album’s second single, “Dime Piece,” was released in March 2006. Due to Nick Cannon’s acting commitments, it was never released.

Nick Cannon’s Other Ventures

The improv comedy series Wild ‘N Out, which Cannon created, produced, and presented for MTV, premiered that year. In the same year, he hosted the 2005 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, where a human cannonball was thrown into a vat of slime. And on Ellen DeGeneres’s Bigger, Longer, and Wider, he spun the tunes as the DJ. Cannon, Justin Timberlake, Hayden Panettiere, LeBron James, Kelly Rowland, and Alicia Keys hosted the 2009 Nickelodeon HALO Awards on December 11.

The Nightlife, an original series on TeenNick that Cannon produced and co-hosted in 2010, lasted only one season. An annual American eating competition, Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest, was held in Cannon on Independence Day, July 4, 2011.

Nick Cannon Has A Tribal Mindset

In 2018, Cannon gave an interview to Vlad TV about his life and work. Questions concerning his kids and his connections with their moms came up during the conversation. Because of their closeness, he said he doesn’t mind assisting them financially and ensuring they have as good of a life as he has.

It will be the same “even if I have more kids,” he stated. I was raised with a tribal outlook. “Have as many kids as you can afford to raise and be the best provider you can be for.”

“We’re here to be productive and multiply,” he told ABC News again. Our existence aims to propagate our species by producing a new generation of human beings.

He also expressed his desire to expand his family by having more kids. He finally came clean, saying, “I talk about that all the time.” “Kids are the future. The general public is aware of this. I enjoy expanding my family through reproduction, whether through natural means or adoption. I feel like I can be more of myself around children. Therefore, I jump at the chance to help them learn and grow.

There will soon be ten Cannon children. The Wild ‘N Out host welcomed his ninth child, a daughter called Onyx Ice Cole Cannon, with model LaNisha Cole on Wednesday (September 14).

Cannon said to his unborn son or daughter, “I swear to protect, provide, guide, and love this child to the best of my abilities,” in a letter he posted to Instagram. I’ve realized that the problem isn’t how short our lives are but how little love there is in the world. And no matter what others think, I swear to love this tiny girl with all my heart. I’ve given up trying to fit any mold that society or the outside world has for me, and instead I’m working on becoming the whole, perfect Being that God always intended me to be.

With Brittany Bell (mother of Golden Sagon and Powerful Queen) and Abby De La Rosa (mother of Zion and Zillion), Cannon is expecting at least two additional children shortly.

De La Rosa spoke to Lovers & Friends podcast host Shan Boodram about her open relationship. She said she is “monogamous by choice” and that Cannon is her “main relationship.”

She elaborated, “From a purely technical standpoint, we are all aware of one other.” The question is, how much detail do you require? The question is, how much do you want to know? The bond Nick and I share gives me peace of mind […] No s*xual intent is required. Everyone constantly assumes that you guys have a massive orgy, and I can’t say I blame them. And they’re all, “Actually, no. It’s the complete opposite, and it’s breathtakingly lovely… Most individuals, I believe, are preoccupied with their fears.

Cannon’s children are Moroccan and Monroe, age 11, and Legendary Love, age 1 month, with ex-wife Mariah Carey and current girlfriend Bre Tiesi. In December of 2021, Zen, his son, died of brain cancer.
