Queen Elizabeth II is the longest-reigning queen in history, taking the British throne in 1952. After her father, King George VI, passed away on February 6, 1952, she has crowned the monarch. They tied the knot in 1947, five years before Elizabeth II became monarch and Philip became the Duke of Edinburgh.

On April 9, 2021, at the age of 99, the Prince of Wales passed away. She is the mother of four royals: Charles, Anne, Andrew, and Edward. She’s been on top for seven decades and counting, and she’s grandma to eight and great-grandma to twelve.

Prince William and Prince Harry, sons of Prince Charles and Princess Diana, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, daughters of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, and Lady Louise Windsor and James, Viscount Severn, are her grandchildren (daughter and son of Prince Edward and Sophie, the Countess of Wessex).

Here More About Queen Elizabeth II Personal Life

After Queen Elizabeth II, Who Will Rule The United Kingdom

“Controlled not only via descent but also by parliamentary statute,” the royal line of succession is “the sequence of members of the royal family in the order of their standing to the throne,” as stated on the royal family’s official website. After Queen Elizabeth II’s reign ends, her eldest son, Charles, the Prince of Wales, will become monarch.

Charles, in turn, will be succeeded by his eldest son, Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, and Prince George, the eldest son of Prince William. But how do other members of the royal family—like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle—factor in?

Prince Charles, The Prince of Wales

When Queen Elizabeth II dies, her son, Prince Charles, will take the throne. From 1981 to 1996, he married Diana, Princess of Wales (Lady Diana Spencer). Together, he and Diana produced two sons: William and Harry. On April 9, 2005, Prince Charles wed Camilla Parker Bowles, now known as the Duchess of Cornwall.

With respect to Princess Diana‘s memory, she declined to adopt the title of Princess of Wales. Camilla will not become queen if Prince Charles is crowned king. Technically, as the king’s wife, she will be recognized as the queen’s consort: however, a declaration from Clarence House in 2020 indicated that she would be referred to as a princess consort.

Prince William, The Duke Of Cambridge

William, the Duke of Cambridge, is the second in line to the British monarchy. He is the father to Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis with his wife, Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Prince Charles Cambridge, whom he wed on April 29, 2011. If and when Prince William assumes the throne, Kate Middleton will be addressed as Queen Consort.

Prince Harry, The Duke Of Sussex

The Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, is the sixth in line for the British throne. On May 19, 2018, he tied the knot with actress Meghan Markle in a ceremony held at Windsor Castle. Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor and Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor are their offspring.

Miss Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor

On June 4, 2021, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had their second child, a daughter named Lilibet. Lilibet is the royal family’s pet name for Queen Elizabeth II, and Diana is in honor of Harry’s late mother. Eighth in line for the throne, Lilibet is in a respectable position.

Prince Andrew, The Duke Of York

The current ninth in line for the throne is Prince Andrew, Duke of York. He is the third child of the monarch and the Duke of York, having wed Sarah Ferguson in 1986. They split up in 1996 and have two kids together: Princess Beatrice (born in 1988) and Princess Eugenie (born in 1990).

The claims that Prince Andrew s*xually molested Virginia Giuffre were dismissed by the Metropolitan Police in October 2021. They have been refuted by his denials. Prince Andrew was initially expected to face criminal prosecution in the UK, but in January 2022, it was announced that he would face a civil trial in the US instead.

Buckingham Palace issued the following statement on Thursday, January 13. The Duke of York has surrendered his military affiliations and Royal patronages to the Queen, representing himself in this lawsuit as a private person. This action was taken with the Queen’s consent and permission.

Princess Beatrice, Mrs. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi

Her Royal Highness, Princess Beatrice of York, more often known as Princess Beatrice, is the tenth in line to the British throne. She wed real estate mogul Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in July 2020, and by September 2021, the couple had a daughter named Sienna Elizabeth.

In addition, she is the stepmother of Edoardo’s son Christopher Woolf, also known as Wolfie, from his prior relationship with Dara Huang.

Princess Eugenie, Mrs. Jack Brooksbank

Title used for Princess Eugenie: Her Royal Highness The 12th in line to the throne is Princess Eugenie of York. On October 12, 2018, she wed her longtime beau. Jack Brooksbank. August was born to them on February 9, 2021.

Prince Edward, The Earl Of Wessex

In 1999, Prince Edward wed Sophie Rhys-Jones, making him the Earl of Wessex and Viscount Severn. To the best of anyone’s knowledge, he is currently fourteenth in line for the throne. Lady Louise, born in 2003, and James, Viscount Severn, born in 2007, are his children with Sophie.

The Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor

In the line of succession, Lady Louise comes in at number sixteen. She’s older than her younger sibling James, yet she’s still lower on the royal totem pole. This is due to the Succession to the Crown Act of 2013, which states that “the gender of a person born after October 28, 2011, does not give that person or that person’s descendants precedence over any other person (whenever born)”. Both she and James were born before this act was passed.

The Princess Royal

Anne is the Queen’s only daughter and second child. To the throne, she is the seventeenth in line. Both Peter and Zara, her two children, are the products of her first marriage to Captain Mark Phillips: her second marriage is to Vice-Admiral Timothy Laurence.

Mr. Peter Phillips

Peter Phillips is the eldest of the queen’s grandchildren and the 18th in line to the throne. As a descendant of Princess Royal through the female line, he does not hold a royal title. His father Mark Phillips declined an earldom when he married Princess Anne.

Thus, neither he nor his sister Zara Tindall has courtesy titles. They had two children, Savannah in 2010 and Isla in 2012; he married Autumn Kelly in 2008. Their separation was made public in February 2020.

Zara Tindall, Or Mrs. Michael Tindall

Princess Anne’s daughter, Zara Tindall, is the 21st in line to the throne. In 2011, she wed the English rugby player Mike Tindall, and the couple has since welcomed three children: Mia Grace in 2014, Lena Elizabeth in 2018, and Lucas in 2021.
