But he got his name and fame from Dirty Dancing along with Jennifer Grey which is a blockbuster film. After fifteen years of experience he said in an interview with The Baltimore Sun in 1995 “In Hollywood, it’s difficult to avoid stereotyping. And some actors like a niche.” And “But that would destroy me. I want to find out how far I can go. If you just live for fame and stardom, it will kill you,”.
Patric’s other films are Ghost, Road House, Point Break, and Donnie Darko.
Patric Swayze Personal Life

Swayze said, “I’ve always felt there was something different in there (my personality), but I was scared to look. For I fear I wouldn’t find anything. That’s the reason I got into Soka Gakkai Buddhism, and earlier in life took EST training, was into therapy, into Transcendental Meditation.
I was trying to support that side of myself. But, you know, in Texas there isn’t much support for that part of you. I finally found what I was looking for in the Soka Gakkai (SGI) tradition of Buddhist practice.” One more interesting thing is that both are licensed pilots and they have their own plane N414PS.
Do You Know the Reason Behind Patric Swayze’s Death?
Patric wad died in 2009, at his home in Los Angle, and when he take his last breath his family was there with him. The reason behind his death is pancreatic cancer. Yes, viewers, that lively actor was suffering from cancer 20 months before death. And to know about his disease he never stop working and said himself a “miracle dude”.
“How do you nurture a positive attitude when all the statistics say you’re a dead man?” he said to The New York Times in October 2008. “You go to work.” He also said, “There is probably that little bird that flies through your insides and says, ‘I sure would like to make a mark in life.’
“I’ve made a pretty decent mark so far, nothing to scoff at. But it does make you think: Wait a minute. There’s more I want to do. Lots more. Get on with it.”
After his death his wife Niemi published a book for his husband titled Worth Fighting, giving her last message to her husband. “My last words to Patrick? ‘I love you,’” she wrote, adding, “and those were his last words to me.”
Patric Swayze and Pancreatic Cancer
Michelle Duff, director of research and scientific affairs at the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PAN) in El Segundo, California, said to WebMD, “It absolutely raises the profile of the disease to have someone well known and well-loved like Patrick Swayze have this be a public diagnosis,” and “Having his name in People magazine and other celebrity magazines certainly raise awareness for pancreatic cancer.”
“No single therapy is absolute at the present time,” Singh said. “It’s analogous to multiple freeways. If you block off the main freeway, cancer will find an alternative freeway and if you block off the alternative freeway, cancer will find a surface route,” he says.
Also, “We can knock out several genes, but cancer cells are so smart that they will find a way of bypassing that route,” Singh said.
“Treatment vaccines look fairly promising for a good number of patients who have had the pancreatic tumor removed and then get a vaccine to prevent the disease from coming back,” Duff says. “These vaccines basically stimulate the body’s own immune system to fight cancer and are typically given with chemotherapy.”
Several agents are there for chemotherapy and another way to treat cancer but she said, “Some things are getting closer to prime time, but nothing is quite ready for prime time”.

Duff said that in the previous 20 years they hope, “we will think of pancreatic cancer as a chronic disease that we could detect earlier. This way, people will have years and years to live, much like what we have done in treating AIDS and other cancers… The ideal would be to find a cure. That would be an out-of-the-ballpark homerun.”
