Netflix dropped Never Have I Ever Season 3 on August 12 and is a favorite teen show, it has already been watched by a lot of its fans. Following two seasons of the series where we saw students of Sherman Oaks, Devi (portrayed by Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) tried to balance between romance and family distress, the third season revolves around the overachiever as she learns self-love amidst her brief romances with Paxton (portrayed by Darren Barnet) and Des (portrayed by Anirudh Pisharody).
At the season, Devi reached two big decisions:
- The first is to continue staying with her friends in Sherman Oaks for senior year,
- The second one is getting intimate with Ben (portrayed by Jaren Lewison).
Season 3 concludes before we could see if Devi and Ben have their moments together, though, with the upcoming season already in the pipeline, we may get our answers there.
Here’s what we know about Never Have I Ever Season 4 so far as it is also going to be the final season of the series.
Never Have I Ever Season 4 Premiere Date
The new season of the series is slated to premiere next year. In a March 2022 interview, the co-creators of the show, Kaling and Fisher confirmed that season 4 will be the final season in a statement writing “We’ve just been renewed for a fourth and final season, which we are absolutely thrilled about,” adding further “We can’t wait to reveal all the steamy romance and hilarious adventures we have in store for you. Thanks to all our fans for your support – especially you #Bevi and #Daxton stans. We love you!”

Kaling also further spoke about the decision of concluding the show with high school graduation of Devi. She stated “Four seasons for a high school show felt like it made sense,” adding further “They can’t be in high school forever. We’ve seen those shows. Like, you’ve been in high school for 12 years. What is going on here? Also, the actors get older and it starts looking insane that a 34-year-old is playing a 15-year-old.”
Kaling further continued by saying “So there are some things are built-in doing a high school show that felt like, OK this is time.” “But the truth is, we got to know the characters. The great thing about doing it on Netflix is that we got to tell stories that you wouldn’t necessarily be able to tell in traditional network shows and so we feel good. We really told the story of this 15-year-old girl and that felt like the perfect amount of time,” she added.
Is Filming for Never Have I Ever Season 4 Wrapped?
Last year, the series’ final episodes were done and production was wrapped in August. Reportedly, a “Never Have I Ever” wrap party was thrown where Fisher, as well as Ramakrishnan, delivered speeches, and a flashback for the last 3 years of shooting was also shared.
In an interview, Jaren Lewison said that the final season of the series is “perfect,” adding “I think the way the writers approached this fourth season has been with such care and with such tenacious and meticulous planning that I think we all feel comforted by the fact that it was a perfect sendoff.”
What can we expect from Never Have I Ever Season 4?
The show’s center has always been Devi, Ben, and Paxton’s love triangle. Despite in the third season, Devi was seen ending everything with Paxton and enjoying short-lived romantic moments with Des, still she is attached to both of them throughout the season, including Paxton’s emotional speech on graduation about everything he learned from Devi.
In spite of this huge cliffhanger, Fisher states that Paxton will continue to be a part of the fourth and final season of the show. In an interview with EW, she said “The love triangle’s not done,” adding further “In season 4, it continues onward. But I think the part that is done is seeing him as this unattainable dream of a hunk. He is no longer that, and they can be more like peers going forward.”
Never Have I Ever Season 4 Cast
Michael Cimino is set to play the role of Sherman Oaks High’s new heartthrob. Last year in June, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Michael Cimino is supposed to land the cast of the last season of Never Have I Ever to portray the character of Ethan, a new student of Sherman Oaks High.
Other characters that are expected to return for the last season are:
- Maitreyi Ramakrishnan as Devi Vishwakumar,
- Jaren Lewison as Benjamin “Ben” Gross,
- Darren Barnet as Paxton Hall-Yoshida,
- Ramona Young as Eleanor Wong,
- Lee Rodriguez as Fabiola Torres, and
- Megan Suri as Aneesa Qureshi.
Sadly, we won’t see the return of one of the love interests of Devi for the last season of the show. During an interview with PEOPLE, Pisharody revealed that he is not returning to reprise his role as Des for Never Have I Ever Season 4.
