Keke Palmer’s Childhood
Palmer was born on the 26th of August, 1993, in Harvey, Illinois, and was brought up in Illinois. She is the child of Lawrence “Larry” Palmer and Sharon who was also professional actors prior to landing full-time jobs. She started singing in a church for the first time in a church though she got better exposure after she started performing in Chicago.
How She Started her Career in the Industry?
In 2004, Keke made her film debut with “Barbershop 2: Back in Business,” where she portrayed Queen Latifah’s niece. The next year Atlanta Records signed her. She also made guest appearances in a number of projects including “Knights of the South Bronx,” “ER” and “Second Time Around.”
The year 2006 brought her breakthrough when she landed the cast of the film “Akeelah and the Bee” which also brought her a Black Reel Award along with an NAACP Image Award as well. The same year she appeared in “Madea’s Family Reunion.” In 2007, she landed the cast of “Cleaner” and “Jump In!” She also appeared in television shows like “Just Jordan,” and “Tyler Perry’s House of Payne.”

Personal Life
In 2019, Keke started dating Styn who is a Dutch musician. She also shared her struggle with depression and anxiety in public.
Apart from her career as an actress, singer, and TV personality, she is also a philanthropist. Keke is involved with the Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs of the American charity Cool to Be Smart program and also support the Girl Scouts and Urban Farming.
