The semi-autobiographical film The Fablemans, directed by Steven Spielberg and based on the director’s own family and childhood, will have its global debut at this year’s edition of the Toronto International Film Festival. The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) will take place from September 8-18, marking its 47th year.
This will be Spielberg’s first debut at the Toronto festival, which takes place in the crucial autumn festival corridor that also includes Venice and Telluride. The bow will mark Spielberg’s first participation at the Toronto festival.

It has not yet been decided when exactly the Fabelmans premiere will take place, but it will take place before the platform release of the Universal/Amblin picture on November 11. It opens wide on November 23.
