Due to a lack of support from Congress, the federal stimulus payments were terminated some months ago. The Biden administration would love nothing more than to restart them, but they are no longer being issued.
In the meantime, Floridians are currently in the process of receiving unexpected checks in the amount of $450 in the mail. This is the result of a budget that was approved by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and included the distribution of $35.5 million in state funding to approximately 59,000 families across the state.

Stimulus Checks Coming In Florida
These funds are being distributed to foster and adoptive families in the form of one-time payments in the amount of $450 per kid. A letter that is included with the checks that are sent to Floridians states that “This one-time payment may be used for everything from buying diapers to filling up at the pump.”
We brought up the fact that there won’t be any more federal checks at the beginning of this article because it’s possible that this is one of the reasons Floridians have been taken aback, to put it mildly, by these new payments.
In point of fact, there is at least one local television news station that felt obligated to produce a program informing viewers that this is not a hoax in order to reassure them. Also, if you do receive one of these checks, you should keep it safe and not throw it away.
“It can’t be true!” Similarly, the spokesperson for the governor’s office sent out a tweet with a snapshot of the documents, so that people could see for themselves that they are authentic.
Florida families: These letters are real. These one-time payments of $450 per child are part of @GovRonDeSantis new budget. Please see the press release from First Lady @CaseyDeSantis roundtable on Hope Florida – A Pathway to Prosperity last week! https://t.co/wl3Uaz40vH pic.twitter.com/uAqI2Jxqo2

DeSantis 2024?
By the way, these stimulus checks follow another wave that was sent to Floridians in the month of April. These were made possible by a budget allocation of one hundred million dollars made by the DeSantis administration, which resulted in one-time payments of one thousand dollars being made to first responders such as firemen and paramedics.
In the meantime, the news of the stimulus check at home comes at a time when DeSantis’ prominence on the national stage is steadily growing. According to a number of surveys, he would perform better than Trump in a made-up Republican primary race in 2024.

A recent edition of Joe Rogan’s podcast had the presenter ripping against President Trump while also boosting DeSantis’ chances of winning. Last month, Trump stated in an interview with the New Yorker, “I don’t know whether Ron is running, and I don’t ask him.” It is entirely up to him to decide. I believe that I might prevail.”
