The Upshaws is an American sitcom created by Wanda Sykes and Regina Y. Hicks for Netflix. The series revolves around a working-class African-American family in Indiana, who do their best to get by without a blueprint to success.
Season one of The Upshaws stars Sykes, Kim Fields, Mike Epps, Page Kennedy, Khali Spraggins, Gabrielle Dennis, Diamond Lyons, Jermelle Simon, and Journey Christine. The first season of the series aired on May 12, 2021, with a total of ten episodes.

The Upshaws Season 2 Renewal Status and Release Date
Netflix’s Head of Comedy, Tracey Pakosta, said about The Upshaws renewal: “Wanda and Regina have created a fresh entry in the tradition of Black sitcoms that are real, relatable, full of heart, and incredibly funny. We’re thrilled to see where they, along with their talented cast, take the Upshaws in the second season.”
The Upshaws Season 2 is supposed to consist of 16 episodes with a runtime of 30 minutes each episode. The filming for the new season began on November 29, 2021, and wrapped up on April 28, 2022.
Netflix made the announcement of the release date of The Upshaws Season 2 on May 7, 2022, stating that The Upshaws Season 2 is set to release on June 29, 2022, in two parts.

The Upshaws Season 2 Plot
In the first season of the sitcom, we saw that the relationship between Regina and Bennie getting tested because of financial burden, and majorly due to Bennie not fulfilling his duties as a husband and husband.
Ultimately, Regina finally throws Bennie out of the house when the latter spent her savings to get her MBA degree, and her decision was praised by her sister Lucretia.
However, similar to their previous split, Regina and Bennie ultimately get back together. And just when things gradually began getting better, a strange little girl appears and claims to be Bennie’s daughter.
After the conclusion of the first season, the new season may come up with the ways Bennie resolves this new problem that will put his relationship with Regina in question. Bennie’s relationship with Tasha threatens Bennie and Regina’s marriage.
Though the affair happened when Bennie and Regina were on a break, from which they had a son, Kevin. Apparently, Regina starts accepting Kevin, but this child’s abrupt arrival will definitely test their love and patience yet again. Will Bennie be capable of resolving this chaos?
