Some details have leaked regarding a special LEGO set of the Atari 2600 console to kick off next year in celebration of Atari’s 50th anniversary.
Throughout the last few years, LEGO has been checking video game-related sets in amazing new methods. LEGO’s collaboration with Nintendo, which has resulted in fun NES console and interactive Super Mario Bros. sets, has been especially fascinating, but the new Sonic the Hedgehog and Horizon Forbidden West set displays LEGO’s interest to experiment.
Perhaps, it is not at all a surprise, then, that a new set has been revealed which will celebrate Atari’s 50th anniversary. The upcoming set is about the classic Atari 2600 console.

The leak emerges from the German Lego website Promobricks.de which describes that LEGO is currently involved in a classic playable model set of the Atari 2600, previously called the Atari VCS. According to reports from Promobricks.de, the set is scheduled to launch this August and will cost a good $199.99.
LEGO fans are expecting to trace the confirmation about the set as well as launch and they can do the same with the Atari 2600 set number 10306 or the complete name of the set, which is the Atari 50th Anniversary Gaming Console.
Apart from the Atari 2600 console itself, another thing that will be there is a CX40 controller to accumulate as well, obviously. The Atari 2600 console showed a classic style of controller introducing a joystick at its center and a single orange button.
It is probable that this controller will also feature a mechanical element linking it to the console because of its “playable” nature.
Fun fact! The Atari 2600 was designed to resemble home stereos and other home electronics of the era, because video games consoles at home was a radically new idea and developers wanted to make the integration seamless! pic.twitter.com/gPMffcWpx2

As for what “playable” signifies, LEGO fans might recollect the Nintendo Entertainment System LEGO set that has a LEGO television and “game” to enjoy on it. According to the leak, the Atari 2600 set would not have a television. Although, it will have a hinge element that when opened discloses a sequence from the game Pitfall. According to the description, Pitfall hero Harry will be sticking out a hole filled with crocodiles. An electronic component that enables real Atari games to be played would be very amazing but is beyond the extent of a $200 LEGO set.
Generally, the set connects elements from both the NES console LEGO set and also the Super Mario 64 Question Mark Block with its mystery Pitfall game world inside. LEGO is giving its full efforts to give rich, elaborate gaming experiences within these sets, and it seems like the Atari 2600 set will be the same.
What Is The Release Date Of The Atari 2600?
Whilst the estimated release window for the Atari 2600 set is August 2022, it will be restricted to official LEGO sources to begin. Promobricks.de claims that the set may not be available for all before early next year. Since LEGO fans know, patience is essential when attempting to score these rare sets.
