Early Life
Scherzinger was born as Nicole Prascovia Elikolani Valiente in Honolulu, Hawaii, on June 29, 1978. She is the child of Rosemary Elikolani Frederick and Alfonso Valiente.
Her father was of Filipino descent whereas her mother was of Native Hawaiian, Ukrainian and Polish descent. Her father left the family when she was just 2 years old and then her mother got married to Gary Scherzinger, who adopted Nicole, and eventually, she took his surname. She has a sibling, a younger sister, Keala.
When she was 6, they relocated to Louisville, Kentucky and her mother started working as a clerk there whereas her step-father worked as a welder.
She calls her upbringing tough since she was raised “without much money” and used to work as a waitress to support her parents financially, she also took modeling assignments and was also a part of an entertainment group of the local amusement park, Kentucky Kingdom.
When she was 14, she went to the Actors Theatre of Louisville, and there she landed her first professional play titled La Bête.
