Outer Range is a forthcoming mystery-thriller television series created by Brian Watkins. The series revolves around a rancher fighting for his land and family, where he finds a complex mystery on the verge of Wyoming’s wilderness.
The series stars Josh Brolin, Lili Taylor, Tamara Podemski, Tom Pelphrey, Imogen Poots, Lewis Pullman, Noah Reid, Shaun Sipos, Isabel Arraiza, and Olive Abercrombie.
During an interview with Deadline, the series’ lead Josh Brolin discussed the reappearance of the Western genre, especially in terms of to hit television series Yellowstone, featuring Kevin Costner. He stated “You have Yellowstone and the Western genre is back.
And then everybody is trying to piggyback on that thing. I think what we’ve done is create a danger zone, and it doesn’t feel safe.” During the same interview, Tamara Podemski referred to Outer Range as “Neo-Western” and hence, the fans should expect to see something unique in the upcoming series.

The first season of the series is scheduled to kick off on April 15, 2022, Amazon Prime Video will air two episodes airing every week and it will have a total of 8 episodes.

Outer Range Synopsis
The series revolves around Royal Abbott, where he and his family are coping with the disappearance of their daughter-in-law Rebecca, and at the same time, a sudden untimely demise in the community left everyone in shock.
The official synopsis of Outer Range reads that it is “a thrilling fable with hints of wry humor and supernatural mystery”, continuing further “Outer Range examines how we grapple with the unknown.
At the onset of the series, the Abbotts are coping with the disappearance of daughter-in-law Rebecca.”
It further states “They are pushed further to the brink when the Tillerson’s (the gaudy owners of the neighboring profit-driven ranch) make a play for their land.
An untimely death in the community sets off a chain of tension-filled events, and seemingly small-town, soil-bound troubles come to a head with the arrival of a mysterious black void in the Abbotts’ west pasture.
