In/spectre Season 2 Release Date
Crunchyroll made the official announcement about the renewal of the series for its second season on November 26, 2020, and it is also scheduled to premiere this October.
About the renewal of the series, Author Kyo Shirodaira said: “I wasn’t anticipating a second season of the anime so I was honestly pretty shocked.
I was actually thinking it was about time to drop Miss Iwanaga down Reichenbach Falls or the like, but apparently, I won’t be doing anything that rash any time soon.
However, even if she was dropped down those falls, she’d probably use a kappa or something and somehow survive, so she’d continue on her merry way. I’ll continue watching over the walking, talking Miss Iwanaga in the animation.”

In/spectre Season 2 Expected Storyline
The main reasons behind story tension in “In/Spectre,” are Kotoko and Kuro’s engagement in the empire of Yokai, and their blooming romance.
“In/Spectre” revolves around these two main sources and most importantly, the truth that Kotoko and Kuro are in an official relationship now, instead of merely teasing each other, is the major change in the subsequent plot that will definitely impact the second season’s plot.
“In/Spectre” Season 2 is expected to cover the second volume of the light novel series written by Kyo Shirodaira, as the first one was adapted from the first volume of the light novel series.
While penning for the Monsters & Critics blog, author Patrick Frye, showcased a comparison of the first season of the series with the source material and found that they were approximately identical.
It was described that the second volume of the novel series discovers Kotoko and Kuro trying to resolve a mystery in Totomizu which is a seaside tourist spot on the island of Honshu. In addition, Kuro’s cousin Rikka remains to be a hostile existence, just like she was in the first season.
