The Rising Of The Shield Hero is Japanese anime television series based on the light novel series of the same name written by Aneko Yusagi. The novel was originally published as a web novel.
The first season of the anime series was directed by Takao Abo and produced by Hiroyasu Taniguchi, Jun’ichirō Tamura, Kenichi Tokumura, Mitsuhiro Ogata, Naoki Kishida, Nobuhiko Kurosu, Sho Nakata, Takashi Tachizaki, Toyokazu Nakahigashi, Yasuhiro Nakajima and Yutaka Kashiwagi whereas Keigo Koyonagi served as the writer.
The Rising Of The Shield Hero Season 1 premiered from January 9, 2019, to June 26, 2019, with a total of 25 episodes on AT-X and other networks. The anime was then available to watch on Funimation and Crunchyroll.
Funimation began streaming the English dub on May 1, 2019, whereas Crunchyroll streamed both versions: Japanese, as well as English, dubbed. The first season received immense love and was praised by critics as well as viewers and has an IMDB rating of 8.2 out of 10 and 8 out of 10 on my time.

The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 2 Release Date
The series has already been renewed for the second and also for third seasons as well. It was initially announced that season 2 of the anime will be rolled out last year in October during “Kadokawa Light Novel Expo 2020.” But the series got postponed later and now, it is slated to premiere on April 6, 2022, and it will have 13 episodes.

According to the announcement, all the cast will be returned for the second season of the series except for the director. The second season will be directed by Masato Jinbo. Here are the names of the cast of Season 2.

The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 2 Storyline
As said by the director of the second season, Masato Jinbo, the story of the second season of the series will follow Naofumi Iwatani, Filo, and Raphtalia who will come together to make efforts to protect the world and unfold the mysteries with regard to Waves.
During Crunchyroll Expo, Jinbo said,
“A giant enemy called the Spirit Turtle? Being transported further into another world? Naofumi and his friends will have to face various new challenges.”
He added further “How will Naofumi, Raphtalia, and Filo take them on, now that they’ve matured? I also hope everyone looks forward to seeing the new characters that join Naofumi’s party, Rishia, and Kizuna.”
