‘the Valet’: Samara Weaving, Max Greenfield, and Eugenio Derbez Rom-com Sets Spring Release Date Status at Hulu

According to the announcement made by Hulu, “The Valet,” which is a forthcoming remake of the French comedy-drama film of the same title written and directed by Francis Veber, is scheduled to be rolled out this year in spring.

The romantic comedy film will star Eugenio Derbez, Samara Weaving, Ravi Patel, Amaury Nolasco, John Pirruccello, Max Greenfield, Betsy Brandt, Marisol Nichols, and Carmen Salinas.

The film is explained as a “fish out of water romantic comedy.”

Apart from the aforementioned characters, Armando Hernández, Carlos Santos, and Milena Rivero are also onboard for the undisclosed roles.

The Valet Storyline

In the upcoming film, Antonia accidentally features a paparazzi picture of Vincent and Olivia.

Realizing a PR mishap, Olivia asks Antonio to pretend to be her new boyfriend and this trick bumps Antonio into the limelight and, in actual romantic comedy fashion, allows “two worlds and cultures to collide” since Olivia as well as Antonio, get to understand themselves in a better way.

Weaving has established herself as a next-generation Scream Queen with her amazing performances in horror films like The Babysitter films, Ash vs. Evil Dead and how can we miss to mention “Ready or Not.” In recent years, she has also featured in comedy films like Bill & Ted Face the Music as well as in action-packed movies like Snake Eyes.

Greenfield rose to fame with his excellent performance in a supporting role in the beloved television series New Girl.  Apart from that, he also featured in movies like Promising Young Woman and What Men Want. In recent times, Derbez also featured in a supporting cast in the significant Oscar competitor CODA, which was also a remake of a French movie coincidentally.

He had given a notable Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture win with the CODA cast at the latest Screen Actors Guild Awards. Richard Wong serving as the director of The Valet and here’s the official synopsis of the film:

“In The Valet, world-famous movie star Olivia (Samara Weaving) faces a PR disaster when a paparazzi snaps a photo of her with her married lover, Vincent (Max Greenfield).

The hard-working valet Antonio (Eugenio Derbez) accidentally appears in the same photo and is enlisted to pose as Olivia’s new boyfriend as a cover-up. This ruse with Olivia thrusts Antonio into the spotlight and unexpected chaos.

In this fish out of water romantic comedy, two worlds and cultures collide as both Olivia and Antonio start to see themselves more clearly than ever before.
