Starstruck from the BBC and HBOMax was one of my favorite shows last year. Rose Matafeo co-writes and acts in this hysterical comedy. Alice Snedden also contributes to the series’ writing.
Matafeo portrays Jessie as a lost millennial (aren’t we all?). However, when out with her pals one night, she accidentally stumbles with celebrity Tom Kapor (Nikesh Patel). The two had a one-night stand that developed into a classic rom-com.
Season one’s success is no surprise to me, as I adored it. Then, as a result of the show’s popularity, season 2 was swiftly ordered. Thus, season 2 begins immediately following Jessie’s magnificent gesture.
Now, Jessie must confront the real-world ramifications of her decision to remain and seek a relationship with Tom rather than return to New Zealand. I’m giddy with anticipation to see what happens next!
