On December 20, 2017, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle was released featuring Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, Nick Jonas, and Bobby Cannavale the film performed extremely well and made an earning of over $800 million across the world.
The film was a follow-up to the 1995 Jumanji which was adapted from the 1981 children’s book of the same name written by Chris Van Allsburg. Following the success Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle achieved, the sequel came out after two years, ‘Jumanji: The Next Level’ on December 13, 2019.
As of now, we have three Jumanji movies if you take into consideration the original film that kicked off back in 1995. Although we will be referring to Dwayne Johnson’s movies series. Jake Kasdan who is the director of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Jumanji: The Next Level, himself refers to the forthcoming follow-up as Jumanji 3.
We know there are a lot of Jumanji lovers out there all across the world and must be curious to know about Jumanji 3. Here’s what we know so far about it.
What Is the Release Date for ‘Jumanji 3’?
Both the previous installment of the film came out in December, so, if the third installment is also going to follow the same release pattern, then we can definitely expect the film to release probably next year in the same month.
Last year, it was reported that the upcoming installment is in the primary phases of development so it may take some more time as well. Last year in April, in an interview with Collider, the director of the film, Jake Kasdan said “We’re just starting to talk about all of that, and the truth is we’ve barely started.
Furthermore, it was revealed by Kasdan that they were just progressing to the discussion regarding the threequel prior to the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic, adding that they will “re-engage it as soon as everybody’s settled.”
Hiram Garcia, who is producing partner alongside Dwayne Johnson revealed through Collider that they are still working hard for the upcoming installment of Jumanji.

He said “That’s also in the hopper! We’re very focused on delivering the best version of that story,” adding further “Obviously when you’re fortunate enough to bring a team back together for the third time you want to knock it out of the park.
It’s important for us to deliver something big for the fans while still expanding on our Jumanji story. So, we are drilling down deep and collaborating closely with our writers, director Jake [Kasdan] and producing partner on this Matt [Tolmach].”
Earlier this year in December, Garcia revealed that the filming for the next installment of Jumanji will be started after wrapping up the filming for ‘Red One’.
The production for Jumanji 3 hasn’t started as of February 2022.
Who Can Be Seen in the Cast of Jumanji 3?
Well, Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, and Jack Black stole many hearts worldwide with their jaw-dropping performances which we can call is one of the factors that are responsible for the success and popularity the films achieved. So, in the upcoming part, we can also expect amazing performances from all of them.
On the other hand, the chances of returning Alex Wolff, Madison Iseman, Ser’Darius Blain, and Morgan Turner are quite low so we may not see them returning in Jumanji 3.
Apart from them, we can also see Awkwafina and Nick Jonas return to reprise their roles as Jumanji avatars Ming Fleetfoot and Jefferson ‘Seaplane’ McDonough respectively, Colin Hanks may also be returning to reprise his role as Alex Vreeke.
We may also see Danny DeVito returning to reprise his role as Edward “Eddie” Gilpin, Spencer’s grandfather.
The complete cast hasn’t been revealed yet so we still require an official confirmation from the creators about it.
What Is the Expected Storyline of ‘Jumanji 3’?
As of yet, not even a word has been shared from the team of Jumanji 3 about the expected storyline that the upcoming part will bring for us.
However, we can expect Jumanji 3 as a continuation to the ending that we saw in Jumanji 2.
The follow-up concludes with the Jumanji game world approaching the real world similar to what we saw in the original 1995 Jumanji film.
This could probably get Dr. Smolder Bravestone and the other explorers into the real world as well. So, will they be capable of operating just by themselves in the real world, or will Spencer and his friends have to take charge and utilize them like their avatars yet again?
Well, we really wish for the latter one as it would be really amazing to see the avatars coming together with Spencer and the remaining players in order to resolve the circumstance.
Furthermore, Wolf is very much interested in getting together all the Jumanji avatars as well as the cast into the real world.
In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, Wolff said “That better happen. That would be so amazing. I want that. Yeah, I think it would be full circle. To come back to the real world.”
Last year in June, Kelvin Hart opened up in an interview regarding the difficulties in the making of Jumanji 3 given everyone is busy with something else. He said “We have no interest in walking away.
It’s about the timing,” adding further “We’ve all taken on some other projects, so I think when things slow down for us and our commitments are out the way, we’re definitely going to revisit another one because there’s no reason not to.”
Is There a Trailer for ‘Jumanji’ 3?
Well, definitely we cannot expect a trailer to come out soon given the current production status of the film but we can expect it by early next year probably.
That’s all we know and it is certain that the film is going to be really amazing as the previous ones and we cannot wait to watch it. We will keep you updated with all the latest information until then stay tuned with our website venturejolt.com.
