Gravity Falls is an adventure mystery comedy anime series created by Alex Hirsch.
The series’s first season premiered on Disney on June 15, 2012, and ended on August 2, 2013, with a total of 20 episodes a year since the season one premiere. The series’ second season premiered on August 1, 2014, on Disney XD and ended on February 15, 2016, with the same number of episodes.
The series revolves around the Dipper Pines (dubbed by Jason Ritter) and his twin sister Mabel (dubbed by Kristen Schaal). Both go to their great-uncle Stan’s place in Gravity Falls, Oregon, a strange town with many supernatural creatures and paranormal events.
Both the children assist their great-uncle in running his tourist trap, “The Mystery Shack,” and at the same time, they investigate the local mysteries.
Undoubtedly, the script of the anime series won many hearts and has a different fandom. The series has an IMDB rating of 8.9 out of 10 and 100 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. Now, it’s been six years since the second season’s premiere, and the question is, “Will the series get a renewal for another season?”

Gravity Falls Season 3 Release Date
The series became so popular that fans are expecting the renewal of the series, though, considering the time that has passed after the second season premiere, many of the fans may be disappointed.
Unfortunately, Disney has not yet made an official announcement about the series renewal. And most likely, there would not be any more seasons of the series. Though there is no announcement even about the cancellation of the series, the time gap says it all.
However, it is being heard from some sources that Alex Hirsch, the creator of the series, is currently developing a spin-off episode for the series. But again, official confirmation is still awaited. However, if this turns out to be accurate, it will surely be exciting.

Gravity Falls Season 3 Expected Storyline
Let’s first take a dig into what happened in earlier seasons.
Even though they are twins, the personalities of both siblings aren’t’ identical. Mabel is the wittier among the duo and has a watchful eye for boy bands and young men.
On the flip side, Dipper is like a bookworm; he prefers to study all the time and has a longing eagerness that often leads him into troublesome situations with the authorities.
Whereas Wendy is a different story. Consequently, Dipper starts falling in love with her, though sadly, it is one-sided since Wendy clearly says they are nothing more than friends.
Following the character’s background has been recognized, the summer vacation gives a lifetime opportunity to both the twins for a journey, and they were sent to Gravity Falls to their great-uncle Grunkle Stan.
As the kids reach their uncle’s place, Stan convinces them to handle the Mystery Shack, a strange place where tourists charge excessive fees to see mythical exhibitions and performances.
While the cousins have a quick realization that it is just a trick to earn easy money, and then something else there catches their eyes.
Upon their uncle’s request, they do it following one of the Shack’s staff named Soos declines to set up a sign declaring the location out in the woods where they work.
When they are doing that, Dipper notices a fake tree that has a journal with the terms ‘TRUST NO ONE” penned over it. It has details regarding supernatural creatures and paranormal activities within it.
And, as they set off on a sequence of adventures, nothing will be the same again as the journey includes time travel, cloning, and even facing off with zombies.
Furthermore, the Shack is more complicated than it seems and this is why someone named Gideon Gleeful is trying to take it from the owners with the help of a demon named Bill Cipher.
After failing to convince government agents regarding the mystery encompassing Gravity Falls, Dipper resorts to tricking zombies into establishing that he isn’t’ mentally sick.
Things get even more complicated when the journal persuades them to go to the author’s bunker, which they find. Ultimately, with a surprising turn of events, it is confirmed that the author is Stanford Ford, who is a long-lost brother of Stan.
Then, Stan confesses everything, saying that he is Stanley Pines, who tried to save his brother from a portal that became packed with debris. As it was his blunder, Stan presumes his brother’s identity till he becomes capable of discovering him and getting him back to his family.
Following combatting the fatal demon successfully once, now, they should confront Bill Cipher again. After everyone teams up to beat Bill, the world is finally rescued.
After the end of season two, the chances of getting a renewal are negligible, but again, no official confirmation has been received.
