Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam Delayed (Updated News)

Dwayne Johnson had made the announcement about Black Adam’s release date which was July 29, 2022, but now, once again the release date has been pushed back further and moving its release to October end.

He has been scheduled to portray antagonist Black Adam in the DCEU for years now, with him being cast in the character earlier in 2014. Jaume Collet-Serra is serving as the director of the much-anticipated film and in this upcoming project, the origin of Black Adam will be covered and brought in the Justice Society.

Apart from Johnson, the film also features Sarah Shahi, Noah Centineo, Aldis Hodge, Pierce Brosnan, and Quintessa Swindell.

Black Adam has gone through a long way to making it to the big screen. The beginning of the film’s production was postponed many times, and however Warner Bros.

originally scheduled the film’s release date for 2021 end, but later, it was bound to be revised.

Earlier this year, apparently, it seemed like the film had made its way to move further as the shooting for the film started in the spring and bypassed any additional postponements. Previously, Black Adam was slated to come out in July, but now this date has also changed.

What Is the Updated Release Date of Black Adam?

On Wednesday, March 9, 2022, the actor-producer took to social media to make the announcement about Black Adam being delayed further. Instead of releasing this summer, the film will now hit cinemas on October 21 this year.

He did not mention any such particular reason that caused this postponement, though Johnson also shared the updates that his other DC movie, the anime DC League of Super-Pets, will be releasing on the previously scheduled release date of Black Adam, on July 29, 2022.

With the announcement of the revised release date, he also mentioned that the film can get through some important holidays such as Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

This update, whilst a little disappointing for fans who have been restlessly waiting for the release of Black Adam, doesn’t come as a surprise.

Ever since the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic, delays in the films have become quite frequent, but in the past months, encouraging signs have been seen in case of theaters getting back on track.

Earlier this weekend, The Batman became the second-highest opening weekend of the pandemic with a whopping collection of $134 million.

It has not been made clear whether the reason behind the new delay for Black Adam has anything related to the pandemic, though that may be a reason for its desire to push it further back in the year.

Those who are eagerly waiting can rest believing that Black Adam will really come out at some point at least; it was primarily shown in the DCEU’s trailer dropped this year, hinting it’s still a significant priority for the franchise.

Johnson’s Black Adam

With the October release date for Black Adam, a unique situation for the whole DCEU has emerged. As of now, The Flash is scheduled to release this November, followed by the release of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom in December.

Now it appears to be possible that at the least, any of them will definitely progress; having three prominent superhero releases approaching so close to each other is exceptional, and possibly not the scenario that Warner Bros. desires for its biggest projects.

During the time of Johnson’s confirmation, neither film has been postponed as of yet. Now, Black Adam is prepared for a holiday run, which may lead to becoming favorable in drawing in eyes for this long-gestating flick.
